1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the BOSWELL Glass Air Fryer, Model GM-AF01. This appliance is designed to provide a versatile and efficient cooking experience, utilizing 360° hot air circulation for even cooking with minimal oil. Its transparent glass bowl allows for easy monitoring of your food during preparation. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use to ensure safe operation and optimal performance.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Ensure the glass bowl is properly seated before operating. The appliance will not function if the bowl is not correctly in place.
  • The glass bowl becomes very hot during operation. Always use the provided insulated glove or other heat protection when handling the hot bowl.

4. Setup Before First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from the air fryer.
  2. Cleaning: Wash the glass cooking basket and metal rack with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the air fryer on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper air circulation. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of space around the unit.
  4. Initial Run (Off-gassing): Before cooking food, it is recommended to run the air fryer empty for approximately 5-10 minutes at 350°F (175°C) to eliminate any manufacturing odors. A slight odor may be present during this initial use; this is normal.

5. Operating Instructions

The BOSWELL Glass Air Fryer features a user-friendly touch control panel for easy operation.

5.1. Basic Operation

  1. Prepare Food: Place your food in the glass cooking basket. For best results, do not overcrowd the basket. Use the metal rack if desired to elevate food.
  2. Insert Basket: Carefully slide the glass cooking basket into the main unit. Ensure it is fully seated. The appliance will not operate if the basket is not correctly inserted.
  3. Power On: Plug the appliance into a 110V power outlet. The control panel will illuminate.
  4. Select Setting:
    • Preset Programs: Choose from the 5 preset options: Seafood, Bake, French Fries, Steak, or Chicken. Pressing a preset button will automatically set the recommended time and temperature.
    • Custom Settings: Alternatively, press the "Custom" button, then use the "TEMP+" / "TEMP-" buttons to adjust the temperature (140°F - 400°F) and the "TIME+" / "TIME-" buttons to adjust the cooking time (5-60 minutes).
  5. Start Cooking: Press the "Start/Cancel" button to begin the cooking cycle. The internal light will illuminate, allowing you to monitor the cooking process through the transparent glass bowl.
  6. Pause/Resume: To pause cooking, simply pull out the glass cooking basket. The appliance will automatically pause. Reinsert the basket to resume cooking.
  7. End of Cycle: The air fryer will beep when the cooking cycle is complete. Carefully remove the hot glass cooking basket using the insulated glove and cooking tweezers.

5.2. Cooking Tips

  • For crispier results, lightly spray or brush food with oil.
  • Shake or flip food halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  • Smaller food items generally require shorter cooking times.
  • Refer to the included recipe book for specific cooking guidelines and ideas.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air fryer.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Glass Cooking Basket & Metal Rack: The glass inner liner and stir-fry basket are dishwasher safe. They can also be washed by hand with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn residue, soak in warm soapy water for 15-20 minutes before cleaning.
  3. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the air fryer with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers, as they may damage the surface.
  4. Interior (Main Unit): Wipe the interior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Ensure no water enters the heating element area.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing the appliance. Store in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting
