4. Setup and Installation

The KikkaBoo i-Flit car seat is designed for forward-facing installation using the ISOFIX system and Top Tether strap.

4.1. ISOFIX Installation

1. Locate the ISOFIX anchor points in your vehicle. These are usually found between the seat back and cushion.
2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors from the base of the car seat by pressing the release buttons (if applicable) and pulling them out.
3. Align the ISOFIX connectors with the vehicle's anchor points and push firmly until you hear an audible 'click' and the indicators turn green (if present).
4. Push the car seat firmly against the vehicle's seat back to ensure a tight fit.

4.2. Top Tether Installation

1. Locate the Top Tether anchorage point in your vehicle. This is typically on the parcel shelf, seat back, or boot floor.
2. Pull the Top Tether strap from the top of the car seat and hook it onto the vehicle's Top Tether anchorage point.
3. Tighten the Top Tether strap until the indicator (if present) shows it is correctly tensioned and the car seat is firmly secured, minimizing forward movement.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Securing Your Child

1. Place your child in the car seat.
2. Bring the two shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and connect the buckle tongues into the central buckle until you hear a 'click'.
3. Pull the harness adjustment strap (usually located at the front of the seat) to tighten the harness. Ensure the straps are snug against your child's body, with no more than two fingers fitting between the strap and your child's collarbone.
4. For older children (from 100 cm height), the 5-point harness can be removed, and the child secured using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. Follow the belt guides on the car seat to ensure correct routing of the vehicle belt.

5.2. Recline Positions

The i-Flit car seat offers 2 recline positions for optimal comfort. To adjust the recline, locate the recline lever (typically at the front or side of the base), press it, and move the seat to the desired position. Ensure it locks securely into place.

6. Adjustments

6.1. Headrest Adjustment

The headrest is adjustable to 12 positions to accommodate your child's growth. To adjust, locate the headrest adjustment lever (usually at the top rear of the headrest), squeeze it, and slide the headrest up or down until it is at the correct height. The shoulder straps will adjust simultaneously with the headrest. Ensure the headrest is positioned so that the shoulder straps are at or just above your child's shoulders.

6.2. Harness Adjustment

The 5-point harness can be adjusted with one hand for convenience. To loosen, press the harness release button (usually under a flap at the front of the seat) and pull the shoulder straps forward. To tighten, pull the harness adjustment strap until snug.

8. Troubleshooting

• Car seat feels loose after installation: Ensure ISOFIX connectors are fully engaged (green indicators visible) and the Top Tether strap is tightened correctly. Push the car seat firmly into the vehicle seat.
• Harness is difficult to tighten/loosen: Check that the harness straps are not twisted or caught under the seat. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening.
• Headrest not adjusting smoothly: Ensure the adjustment lever is fully squeezed. Check for any obstructions or debris in the adjustment mechanism.
