4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the espresso maker. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the device and a compatible power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, car charger). The battery indicator lights will illuminate during charging and turn solid when fully charged.

  1. Ensure the main unit is clean and dry.
  2. Select the appropriate coffee adapter: ground coffee, small capsule (Nespresso), or big capsule (Dolce Gusto).

  5. If using the milk frothing base, ensure it is clean and ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Espresso Preparation

The Hobsir espresso maker offers two brewing modes: cold water heating and hot water extraction.

  1. Prepare Coffee:
    • For Ground Coffee: Fill the ground coffee adapter with your desired amount of fine-ground coffee using the provided scoop. Tamp lightly.
    • For Capsules: Place your Nespresso or Dolce Gusto compatible capsule into the corresponding adapter.
  2. Assemble: Screw the prepared coffee adapter firmly onto the main unit.
  3. Add Water: Open the water tank lid and pour 50-60ml of water into the tank. Do not exceed the MAX line. Close the lid securely.
    • For Hot Water Extraction: Use pre-heated hot water for faster brewing (approx. 20 seconds).
    • For Cold Water Heating: Use cold water. The device will heat it to brewing temperature (approx. 3-4 minutes).
  4. Place Cup: Place the included cup or your own espresso cup beneath the dispenser.
  5. Brew:
    • Hot Water Extraction: Press the power button twice quickly. The indicator lights will turn blue, and brewing will begin.
    • Cold Water Heating: Press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds. The indicator light will turn red, indicating heating. Once heated, it will automatically switch to brewing mode (blue lights).
  6. Enjoy: Once brewing is complete, the device will stop automatically. Carefully remove your cup and enjoy your fresh espresso.

5.2 Milk Frothing

The detachable frothing base allows you to create creamy milk foam for your coffee beverages.

  1. Prepare Frother: Ensure the frothing whisk is securely attached to the frothing base.
  2. Add Milk: Pour cold milk into the frothing base, ensuring it does not exceed the 'Max' fill line.
  3. Start Frothing: Press the power button on the frothing base once. The whisk will begin to spin, creating foam.
  4. Wait: Allow the frother to operate for 1-2 minutes, or until desired foam consistency is achieved.
  5. Serve: Pour the frothed milk into your espresso.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of water and a descaling solution (follow descaling solution instructions). Alternatively, use a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and water.
  2. Run the device through a brewing cycle without coffee.
  3. Repeat the cycle with clean water 2-3 times to rinse thoroughly.
