4. Setup Instructions

  1. Unfold the Solar Panel: Carefully remove the solar panel from its storage bag. Lay it flat on a stable surface and unfold the panels completely.
  2. Position the Kickstands: Extend the four reinforced kickstands located on the back of the panel. Adjust them to an angle that allows the solar panel to face the sun directly. Optimal angles are typically between 35° and 60° depending on the sun's position. Avoid laying the panel flat on the ground unless it is noon, as this can reduce power output.
  3. Connect to a Power Station:
    • Identify the appropriate connector for your power station from the included 4-in-1 solar cable (DC7909, DC8020, XT-60, or Anderson).
    • Connect the solar panel's output cable to the solar extension cable, then connect the extension cable to the 4-in-1 adapter cable.
    • Plug the correct adapter into your power station's solar input port.
    • Ensure your power station's input voltage range accommodates 43V.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, the solar panel will begin converting sunlight into electricity. Observe the charging indicator on your power station to confirm it is receiving power.

  • Optimal Sunlight Exposure: For best results, ensure the solar panel is positioned in direct sunlight without any shading from trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
  • Voltage Compatibility: Confirm that your power station's input voltage range is compatible with the solar panel's 43V output.
  • No Internal Storage: This solar panel does not store electricity internally. It generates power only when exposed to sunlight and must be connected to a compatible power station or battery for energy storage.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean surface ensures maximum sunlight absorption and efficiency.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the solar panel and store it in its provided carrying bag. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Water Immersion Warning: While the solar panel is IP68 waterproof and resistant to rain and splashes, do not immerse this solar panel in water.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all cables and connectors for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace damaged components immediately.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power Output:
    • Ensure the panel is in direct sunlight and not shaded.
    • Verify all cables are securely connected to the solar panel and the power station.
    • Check if the power station's input port is functioning correctly.
    • Confirm the power station's input voltage range is compatible with the solar panel's 43V output.
  • Low Power Output:
    • Adjust the panel's angle to face the sun more directly.
    • Clean the panel surface if it is dirty.
    • Cloudy weather or partial shading will reduce output.
    • Ensure ambient temperature is within optimal operating range.
  • Damaged Cables/Connectors: If any cables or connectors appear damaged, discontinue use and contact customer service for replacement.
