Setup

Battery Installation

Align the 56V 2.5Ah ARC Lithium™ battery with the battery slot on the chainsaw. Push the battery firmly until it clicks into place, ensuring a secure connection. To remove, press the release button and slide the battery out.

Chain Oil Filling

Locate the oil reservoir cap on the chainsaw. Unscrew the cap and carefully pour EGO-recommended bar and chain lubricant into the reservoir. Monitor the oil level indicator to avoid overfilling. Securely replace the cap.

Chain Tensioning

The chainsaw features tool-free chain tensioning. Locate the tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw. Turn the knob to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. Refer to the markings on the chainsaw for proper tensioning guidance.

Operating Instructions

Starting and Stopping

To start the chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is disengaged (pulled back towards the front handle). Press and hold the safety switch, then squeeze the trigger. To stop, release the trigger. Engage the chain brake immediately after stopping the saw.

Cutting Techniques

Always maintain a firm grip with both hands on the chainsaw handles. Position yourself securely and ensure the cutting area is clear. Begin cuts with the bottom of the guide bar, allowing the chain to do the work. Avoid cutting with the tip of the bar to prevent kickback. For larger limbs, make relief cuts to prevent pinching.

Maintenance

Chain Lubrication

The chainsaw features automatic chain lubrication. Regularly check the oil level indicator and refill the reservoir as needed. Proper lubrication is crucial for chain and bar longevity and efficient cutting.

General Care

After each use, clean the chainsaw thoroughly, removing sawdust and debris from the chain, guide bar, and motor housing. Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location with the chain cover in place and the battery removed.

Troubleshooting

• Chainsaw does not start: Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted. Check that the chain brake is disengaged and the safety switch is pressed before squeezing the trigger.
• Chain is loose or comes off: Adjust the chain tension using the tool-free tensioning knob. If the chain repeatedly comes off, inspect the guide bar and chain for damage or wear.
• Reduced cutting performance: Check the chain for sharpness and proper tension. Ensure the oil reservoir is filled for adequate lubrication.
