Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before operating the food processor.
  • Always unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the motor base in water or other liquids.
  • Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades during operation to prevent injury. Use the food pusher provided.
  • Ensure the bowl and lid are securely locked in place before operating the appliance. The safety-lock mechanism prevents operation if not properly assembled.
  • Do not process hot liquids in the food processor.
  • Avoid contact with moving parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Setup and Assembly

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Wash all removable parts (bowl, lid, blades, discs, pusher, grinder cup) in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.
  2. Positioning the Motor Base: Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface. Ensure the power cord is unplugged.
  3. Assembling the Processing Bowl: Place the 12-cup processing bowl onto the motor base. Rotate it clockwise until it locks securely into place. You will hear a click.
  4. Inserting Blades/Discs:
    • For Chopping/Kneading: Carefully place the desired blade (chopping or kneading) onto the central shaft inside the processing bowl. Ensure it sits firmly.
    • For Slicing/Shredding/French Fry: First, insert the long shaft into the processing bowl. Then, place the desired disc (slicing, shredding, or French fry cutter) onto the long shaft.
  5. Attaching the Lid: Place the feed chute lid onto the processing bowl. Rotate it clockwise until it locks securely into place. The safety interlock will prevent the motor from starting if the lid is not correctly locked.
  6. Grinder Cup Assembly (Optional): For grinding spices, attach the grinder cup to the motor base by twisting it clockwise until secure.

Operating Instructions

Digital Control Panel and Presets

The KICHOT Food Processor features an LCD touchscreen control panel with stepless speed control and 6 pre-programmed settings.

  • Power On/Off: Plug the appliance into a wall outlet. The display will illuminate.
  • Stepless Speed Control (0-11 levels): Use the rotary knob to adjust the speed manually. Turn clockwise to increase speed, counter-clockwise to decrease. Press the knob to start/pause/cancel operation.
  • Preset Functions: Tap the corresponding icon on the LCD touchscreen to select a preset:
    • Ice Crushing: For crushing ice cubes.
    • Dough Kneading: For preparing dough.
    • Thick Slicing: For uniform thick slices.
    • Thin Shredding: For fine shredding.
    • Timer (up to 60 mins): Set a specific processing duration.
    • Stepless Speed: Manual speed adjustment.
  • Adding Ingredients: For chopping, kneading, or pureeing, add ingredients directly into the processing bowl. For slicing, shredding, or French fry cutting, use the feed chute and pusher to guide ingredients.
  • Safety Lock: The appliance will only operate when the processing bowl and lid are correctly assembled and locked.

Specific Applications

  • Chopping: Use the stainless steel chopping blade. Process ingredients like vegetables, nuts, or meat. Pulse for coarse chop, or run continuously for finer results.
  • Slicing/Shredding: Use the long shaft and appropriate disc. Place ingredients in the feed chute and use the pusher. Do not force ingredients.
  • Dough Kneading: Use the dough kneading blade. Follow recipe instructions for ingredient ratios and processing times.
  • Ice Crushing: Use the chopping blade or the dedicated Ice Crushing preset. Add ice cubes to the bowl.
  • Grinding Spices: Attach the grinder cup. Add whole spices, coffee beans, or nuts. Operate until desired consistency is achieved.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, ensure the food processor is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Disassemble: Carefully disassemble all removable parts: processing bowl, lid, pusher, blades, discs, long shaft, grinder cup, and grinder lid.
  3. Dishwasher Safe Parts: All removable accessories are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).
  4. Hand Washing: For hand washing, use warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Exercise extreme caution when handling sharp blades and discs. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
  5. Motor Base: Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
  6. Storage: Store the food processor and its accessories in a clean, dry place. The compact design allows for efficient storage.

Troubleshooting Guide

  • Stop the appliance, redistribute ingredients evenly.
  • Ensure the food processor is placed on a flat, stable, and non-slip surface.
