4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of your MantelMount MAX1. It is highly recommended to have this mount installed by a qualified professional.

  1. Planning and Location:

Determine the ideal mounting location, considering viewing angles, wall structure (wood studs, concrete, brick), and potential obstructions like fireplaces. Ensure adequate clearance for the mount's full range of motion.

  2. Wall Preparation:

Use a stud finder to locate and mark the center of the wall studs. If mounting to concrete or brick, use appropriate anchors (not always included, verify kit contents). Use the provided installation template to mark drilling locations accurately.

  3. Mounting the Wall Plate:

Secure the wall plate to the marked locations using the provided lag bolts. Ensure the wall plate is perfectly level using a spirit level. Tighten all bolts securely.

  5. Attaching TV Brackets to TV:

Attach the TV mounting brackets to the back of your television using the appropriate screws and spacers from the hardware kit. Ensure the brackets are centered and securely fastened to the VESA mounting holes on your TV.

  6. Mounting the TV to the Mount:

With assistance, carefully lift the television and hook the TV brackets onto the mount's arms. Secure the TV in place using the locking mechanisms or safety screws as per the detailed instructions.

  7. Cable Management:

Route all TV cables through the integrated cable management channels on the mount. Ensure cables have enough slack to accommodate the full range of motion without tension.

5. Operating Instructions

The MantelMount MAX1 is designed for smooth and easy operation.

  • Lowering and Raising the TV:

To lower the TV, gently pull down on the bottom of the TV or the mount's handles. The gas piston system will assist in the movement. To raise the TV, gently push it upwards until it locks into its retracted position. The mount offers up to 29 inches of independent vertical travel.

  • Swiveling the TV:

Once the TV is lowered, you can manually swivel it left or right to achieve your desired viewing angle. The mount allows for significant horizontal articulation.

  • Retracting the TV:

When not in use, push the TV back towards the wall until the mount fully retracts. The MAX1 allows the back of the TV to be positioned as close as 3 inches from the wall in its retracted state.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and smooth operation of your MantelMount MAX1.

  • Cleaning:

Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.

  • Periodic Checks:

Every 6-12 months, inspect all mounting screws and connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Check for any signs of wear or damage to the moving parts. If any issues are found, contact customer support.

  • Lubrication:

The gas pistons and moving joints are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Do not attempt to lubricate internal components unless specifically instructed by MantelMount support.
