5. Maintenance
Your Avisontek remote is powered by a 240mAh high-capacity lithium battery (CR5 type, 2 included). When the remote's range decreases significantly or the LED indicator becomes dim, it may be time to replace the battery.
Battery Replacement:
- Carefully open the remote casing.
- Remove the old battery.
- Insert a new CR5 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the remote casing securely.
General Care:
- Keep the remote dry and away from extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping the remote or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Clean the remote with a soft, dry cloth if necessary.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Avisontek remote, consider the following:
- Remote Not Working: Ensure the battery is properly installed and has sufficient charge. Re-attempt the programming steps carefully, paying close attention to the learn button color and corresponding number of presses.
- Short Remote Range: This could indicate a low battery. Replace the battery if necessary. Ensure there are no significant obstructions between the remote and the garage door opener.
- Programming Failure: Double-check the compatibility of your garage door opener (learn button color, not a dip switch model). As a warm tip, if initial programming fails, try using the programming steps for a different learn button color, as some openers may have variations.
- Opener Memory Full: Some older openers may have a limited memory for remotes. If you have many remotes programmed, you might need to clear the opener's memory and reprogram all desired remotes. Consult your garage door opener's manual for instructions on clearing its memory.
