2. Product Features
The AOTIQUAL 2-in-1 Detector combines multiple safety features into a single, compact unit:
- Advanced 2-in-1 Protection: Equipped with dual electrochemical sensors for accurate and reliable detection of both smoke and carbon monoxide (CO).
- Real-Time Alerts: Features a clear LCD display for real-time air quality updates. An 85-decibel CO alarm and flashing red light provide immediate alerts when harmful levels are detected.
- User-Friendly Design: Battery-powered (three AA 1.5V batteries included) for continuous operation without external power. Includes a "Lb" low battery warning on the LCD.
- Durable Construction: Made from robust ABS explosion-proof plastic, meeting rigorous safety standards for long-lasting performance.
- Digital Display: The LCD shows specific carbon monoxide values and "Sdh" for high smoke detection.

3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to set up and install your detector:
- Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on the back of the detector. Insert three AA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The detector comes with batteries included.
- Mounting Location: Choose a suitable location for installation. For optimal smoke and CO detection, install the detector on a ceiling or high on a wall, away from corners, windows, and doors. Avoid areas with high humidity or direct airflow from vents.
- Mounting: Use the provided mounting screws to secure the detector's base to the chosen surface. Once the base is secure, attach the detector unit by twisting it onto the base until it clicks into place.
- Initial Test: After installation, press the "TEST/SILENCE" button to perform an initial test. The alarm should sound, and the display should show "888" or similar test indicators.

4. Operating Instructions
The detector operates continuously once batteries are installed. Here's how to understand its indications:
- Normal Operation: The green "POWER" indicator light will flash periodically, and the LCD display will typically show "0 PPM" or remain blank until a detection event.
- Smoke Detection: If smoke is detected, the display will show "Sdh" (Smoke detection high), the red "ALERT" light will flash, and the 85-decibel alarm will sound.
- Carbon Monoxide Detection: If carbon monoxide is detected, the display will show the specific CO value in PPM (parts per million), the red "ALERT" light will flash, and the 85-decibel alarm will sound.
- Low Battery Warning: The LCD display will show "Lb" (Low battery) when the batteries need replacement.
- Fault/Error: The amber "FAULT" indicator light will illuminate if there is an internal error with the detector.
- Test/Silence Button: Press this button once a week to test the alarm functionality or to silence a false alarm.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your detector:
- Weekly Test: Press the "TEST/SILENCE" button once a week to ensure the alarm and display are functioning correctly.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all three AA 1.5V batteries when the "Lb" indicator appears on the LCD. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries.
- Cleaning: Gently vacuum the detector's vents and cover monthly to remove dust and debris. Do not use cleaning sprays or solvents.
- Avoid Painting: Never paint the detector, as this can block the sensor openings and interfere with proper operation.
6. Troubleshooting
If your detector is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm sounds without apparent smoke/CO. | False alarm due to cooking fumes, steam, or dust. | Press the "TEST/SILENCE" button to silence. Ventilate the area. Relocate the detector if false alarms persist. |
| "Lb" displayed on LCD. | Low battery. | Replace all three AA 1.5V batteries immediately. |
| Amber "FAULT" light illuminates. | Internal error or sensor malfunction. | Perform a test. If the fault persists, contact customer support. |
| No response when pressing "TEST/SILENCE". | No power or severe malfunction. | Check battery installation. Replace batteries. If still unresponsive, contact customer support. |
