4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is critical for the safe and effective operation of the XK-1400L Truck Hoist. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by a certified professional or a qualified technician.

4.1 Site Preparation

  • Ensure the installation area is level and composed of concrete that meets the minimum specifications for thickness and strength (refer to the detailed installation manual for specific requirements).
  • Verify adequate overhead clearance for the lift's maximum height and the vehicles to be serviced.
  • Confirm access to a dedicated 220V, 60Hz, 3HP single-phase power supply with at least a 30A breaker.

4.2 Assembly Steps (Overview)

  1. Uncrating and Inspection: Carefully uncrate all components and inspect for shipping damage.
  2. Column Placement: Position the two columns according to the specified dimensions, ensuring they are plumb and level.
  3. Anchor Bolt Installation: Drill holes and secure the columns to the concrete floor using the provided anchor bolts. Torque to specifications.
  4. Hydraulic Unit Mounting: Mount the hydraulic power unit to the designated column.
  5. Hydraulic and Electrical Connections: Connect hydraulic hoses between the power unit and cylinders, and route electrical wiring. Fill the reservoir with 3-5 gallons of AW32/AW46 hydraulic oil.
  6. Cable Installation: Install and tension the equalization cables.
  7. Arm Assembly: Attach the lifting arms and ensure the automatic arm restraints function correctly.
  8. Initial Test: Perform a test run without a vehicle to check for proper operation, leaks, and safety lock engagement.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your XK-1400L Truck Hoist.

5.1 Pre-Operation Checks

  • Ensure the lift area is clear of personnel and obstructions.
  • Check hydraulic fluid level.
  • Inspect cables, chains, and hoses for wear or damage.
  • Verify that safety locks are disengaged before lifting and engaged after lifting.

5.2 Lifting a Vehicle

  1. Position Vehicle: Drive the vehicle onto the lift, centering it between the columns.
  2. Position Arms: Swing the lifting arms into position under the vehicle's designated lifting points. Ensure the arm pads make full contact with the vehicle's frame or pinch welds.
  3. Engage Arm Restraints: Confirm that the automatic arm restraints are engaged, preventing the arms from swinging out.
  4. Raise Vehicle: Press and hold the 'UP' button on the hydraulic power unit. Raise the vehicle slowly until the tires are just off the ground. Re-check arm pad contact and vehicle stability.
  5. Engage Safety Locks: Continue raising the vehicle to the desired working height. Once at height, lower the lift slightly until the safety locks engage with an audible click. This transfers the load from the hydraulic system to the mechanical locks.
  6. Verify Locks: Visually confirm that all safety locks are fully engaged before working under the vehicle.

  2. Raise Slightly: Press the 'UP' button briefly to lift the vehicle off the safety locks.
  3. Disengage Safety Locks: Pull the single point lock release handle to disengage all safety locks.
  4. Lower Vehicle: Press and hold the 'DOWN' lever on the hydraulic power unit. The vehicle will begin to descend. Control the descent speed as needed.
  5. Remove Arms: Once the vehicle is fully on the ground, swing the lifting arms clear.
  6. Drive Off: Carefully drive the vehicle off the lift.
