2.1 Port Functions

Power Switch: Turns the device on or off.
DC-In (20V/5A): Connects to the power adapter for device operation.
USB-C Upstream (65W PD): Connects to your laptop for data, video, and power delivery (up to 65W).
HDMI 2.0 (4K@60Hz HDR): Connects to an external monitor for video output up to 4K resolution at 60Hz with HDR support.
USB-C 3.2 (5Gbps) (x3): For data transfer at speeds up to 5Gbps. Note: Downstream USB-C ports do not support video output.
USB-A 3.2 (5Gbps) (x2): For data transfer at speeds up to 5Gbps.

3. Setup Instructions

Connect Power: Plug the provided power adapter into the DC-In port (20V/5A) on the HiDock H1E, then connect it to a power outlet.
Connect to Host Device: Use a USB-C cable to connect the USB-C Upstream port on the HiDock H1E to your laptop or compatible host device. This connection provides data, video, and power delivery to your laptop.
Connect Peripherals:
- External Monitor: Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI 2.0 port on the HiDock H1E to your monitor.
- Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from the 1Gbps Ethernet port to your router or network switch.
- USB Devices: Connect USB-A or USB-C peripherals (e.g., keyboard, mouse, external drives) to the available USB 3.2 ports.
Power On: Press the Power Switch on the HiDock H1E to turn on the device.

4.1 Intuitive Control Panel

The HiDock H1E features an intuitive control panel for easy management of calls, volume, and recording functions.

Answer Call & End Call Buttons: Used to accept or terminate phone calls.
Recording & Mark Button: Initiates or stops voice recording. Can also be used to mark important moments during a recording.
Mute Button: Mutes or unmutes the microphone.
BNC Slider (Bidirectional Noise Cancellation): Adjusts the level of noise cancellation for both incoming and outgoing audio.
Volume / Play / Pause Dial: Rotates to adjust volume. Press to play or pause audio.

4.2 AI Voice Recorder and HiNotes App

The HiDock H1E integrates an AI voice recorder with the HiNotes application for advanced transcription and summarization features.

Recording: Press the Recording & Mark button on the HiDock H1E to start recording. The device can capture audio from various sources, including Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp, FaceTime, and podcasts, for up to 1000 continuous hours.
HiNotes Application: Download and install the HiNotes application on your computer. This application allows you to:
- Transcribe and Summarize: Automatically transcribe recordings into text and generate summaries using AI. Supports 57 languages and over 20 templates.
- Manage Recordings: Organize, view, and edit your recorded notes.
- Share Notes: Share transcribed notes directly to platforms like Notion, Google Docs, and Microsoft OneNote.
- Recording Notification: The HiNotes app offers an optional "recording notification" feature that alerts all participants with an audible tone when recording begins.
Data Privacy: HiDock adheres to GDPR compliance, ensuring data security. Customer data is not used for AI training, and partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic include robust measures to keep your data secure.

4.3 Display Setup

Connect an external monitor to the HDMI 2.0 port for 4K@60Hz video output. Ensure your host device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode for video transmission via USB-C.

Note: The downstream USB-C ports on the HiDock H1E do not support video output.

4.4 Using the Included Earphone

The HiDock H1E includes a comfortable open-ear earphone for private calls and meetings. It connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.2.

To pair the earphone, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your HiDock H1E and follow the pairing instructions provided with the earphone.

5. Compatibility

The HiDock H1E is compatible with a range of operating systems and devices that support USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery.

Devices: Laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery, smartphones, and tablets with compatible USB-C ports.
Incompatibility: This device is not compatible with Linux.

6. Maintenance

Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the docking station. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Cable Management: Ensure cables are not bent sharply or tangled to prevent damage to the ports and cables.
