1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your AMprime Android 13 Car Stereo. This unit is specifically designed for Ford Escape Kuga models from 2013 to 2019, offering advanced features such as wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation, and a high-resolution display to enhance your driving experience.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Compatibility

This car stereo is designed to fit Ford Escape Kuga models manufactured between 2013 and 2019. Ensure your vehicle's dashboard matches the compatible design shown in the installation comparison image.

3.3 Installation Steps (General)

Due to the complexity of car stereo installations, professional installation is highly recommended. The following is a general guide:

1. Preparation: Disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting any electrical work.
2. Remove Old Unit: Carefully remove the existing car stereo and trim panels.
3. Connect Wiring: Connect the provided power cable, RCA cables, USB cables, and antenna to the new stereo unit and the vehicle's harness. Ensure all connections are secure.
4. GPS Antenna: Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky, typically on the dashboard or under the windshield.
5. Microphone: Install the external microphone in a suitable location for clear voice pickup during calls.
6. AHD Rear Camera: Install the backup camera at the rear of the vehicle. Connect the camera's video output to the stereo's camera input. The camera's power should be connected to the reversing lamp power for automatic activation.

6. Test Functionality: Before fully reassembling the dashboard, reconnect the battery and test all functions of the stereo (power, audio, radio, GPS, Bluetooth, camera, steering wheel controls).
7. Secure Unit: Once tested, securely mount the new stereo and reassemble all trim panels.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button on the unit or use the vehicle's ignition to turn the stereo on or off.

4.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

To use Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto:

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
2. On the car stereo, navigate to the CarPlay/Android Auto application.
3. Search for and pair with your phone via Bluetooth.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection. Once connected, your phone's interface will be mirrored on the stereo display, allowing access to compatible apps.

4.3 GPS Navigation

The unit comes with a built-in offline map of North America. To use online maps:

1. Connect the stereo to a WiFi hotspot (e.g., from your smartphone).
2. Open your preferred navigation app (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) from the main menu.
3. Enter your destination and follow the voice-guided directions.

4.4 FM/RDS Radio

To operate the radio:

1. Select the 'Radio' application from the main menu.
2. Use the on-screen controls to scan for stations, manually tune, or select from presets. RDS (Radio Data System) will display station information where available.

4.5 Bluetooth Functions

After pairing your phone via Bluetooth:

• Hands-Free Calling: Use the 'Phone' application to dial numbers, answer, or end calls directly from the stereo screen or via steering wheel controls.
• Bluetooth Music: Select the 'Bluetooth Music' application to stream audio from your paired device.

4.6 DSP & EQ Settings

Access the 'Sound Settings' or 'EQ' application to customize your audio experience. You can adjust the 32-band equalizer, select preset sound types (e.g., Pop, Jazz, Classical), and fine-tune audio parameters to match your preferences and vehicle acoustics.

4.7 Steering Wheel Control (SWC)

If your vehicle supports SWC, you can configure the stereo to respond to your steering wheel buttons. Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Steering Wheel Learn' to map functions like volume control, track skipping, and call answering to your steering wheel buttons.

4.8 AHD Rear View Camera

When the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear, the AHD rear view camera image will automatically display on the stereo screen, providing a clear view of the area behind your vehicle for safe parking and maneuvering.

4.9 Split Screen Function

The unit supports split-screen mode, allowing you to run two applications simultaneously (e.g., navigation on one side and music player on the other). To activate, long-press the recent apps button or follow the specific instructions within the Android interface.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and unit. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used, but avoid spraying liquids directly onto the unit.
