4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your Tapo C530WS camera.

1. Download the Tapo App: Search for 'Tapo' in the App Store or Google Play Store and download the official Tapo app.
2. Create a Tapo ID: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Tapo ID or log in with an existing one.
3. Power On the Camera: Connect the power adapter to the camera and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the camera's LED indicator to blink red and green, indicating it's ready for setup.
4. Add the Camera in the App: In the Tapo app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device. Select your camera model (Tapo C530WS) from the list.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
6. Mount the Camera: Use the provided mounting template, screws, and bracket to securely install the camera in your desired outdoor location. The camera supports wall, ceiling, and pole mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the camera's weight.
7. Final Adjustments: Once mounted, use the app to adjust the camera's pan and tilt angles to achieve the desired viewing area.

5. Operation

5.1 Live View and Recording

Access the live feed of your camera through the Tapo app. You can view real-time footage, take snapshots, and manually record video clips. The camera supports 24/7 continuous recording to a microSD card (up to 512 GB) or cloud storage via Tapo Care subscription.

5.2 Pan/Tilt Control

Utilize the pan and tilt controls within the Tapo app to remotely adjust the camera's viewing angle. The camera offers 360° horizontal and 130° vertical rotation. You can also set patrol routes for automated monitoring of multiple custom points.

5.3 Night Vision

The Tapo C530WS features Starlight Color Night Vision, providing full-color video even in extremely low-light conditions. Built-in spotlights can be activated to enhance visibility and deter intruders. The camera automatically switches between day and night modes based on ambient light.

5.4 AI Detection and Notifications

The camera's smart AI can accurately identify people, pets, and vehicles. It also supports tamper detection and line-crossing detection. When an event is detected, you will receive instant notifications on your Tapo app. Customize detection zones and sensitivity settings to reduce false alerts.

5.5 Two-Way Audio

5.7 Sound and Light Alarm

Activate the customizable sound and light alarm to deter intruders. The ultra-bright adjustable spotlights and custom audio alarms can be triggered manually or automatically upon detection of suspicious activity.
