2. Setup Guide
2.1. Component Installation
Before installing any components, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
2.1.1. CPU Installation
- Open the CPU socket lever.
- Carefully align the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor with the LGA1851 socket, ensuring the notches on the CPU match the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
- Close the socket lever to secure the CPU.
2.1.2. RAM (DDR5) Installation
The motherboard supports 4 x DDR5 DIMMs in dual-channel configuration, up to 8666+ (OC) MHz.
- Open the clips on both ends of the DIMM slots.
- Align the memory module with the slot, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
2.1.3. Storage Device Installation (M.2 and SATA)
The motherboard includes 1 Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4), 2 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4), and 1 M.2 (PCIe Gen4x2) slots, all cooled by a Toolless Multi-Layer M.2 Heatsink. It also features 4 SATA3 ports.
- For M.2 SSDs, remove the M.2 heatsink. Insert the M.2 SSD into the appropriate slot and secure it with the provided screw or toolless mechanism. Reattach the heatsink.
- For SATA drives, connect one end of the SATA data cable to a SATA3 port on the motherboard and the other end to your storage drive. Connect the SATA power cable from your power supply to the drive.
2.1.4. Graphics Card (PCIe) Installation
The motherboard features 1 PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and 1 PCIe 4.0 x16 slot.
- Open the retention clip on the desired PCIe x16 slot.
- Align your graphics card with the slot and press down firmly until it is fully seated and the retention clip locks into place.
- Secure the graphics card to your PC case with screws.
- Connect any necessary PCIe power cables from your power supply to the graphics card.
2.1.5. Power Supply Connections
Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin + 4-pin CPU power connectors from your power supply to the corresponding ports on the motherboard.

4. Maintenance
4.1. BIOS Flashback
The BIOS Flashback feature allows you to update the BIOS without a CPU, RAM, or graphics card installed. This is useful for compatibility with newer processors or recovering from a corrupted BIOS.
- Download the latest BIOS file from the ASRock website.
- Rename the BIOS file according to the instructions on the ASRock support page (usually to `creative.rom`).
- Copy the renamed BIOS file to the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive.
- Insert the USB flash drive into the designated BIOS Flashback USB port on the rear I/O panel.
- Press the BIOS Flashback button. The LED will flash, indicating the update process. Wait until the LED stops flashing before powering on the system.

4.2. General Cleaning and Care
Regularly clean your motherboard and PC components to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and performance issues. Use compressed air to remove dust from fans, heatsinks, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, 4-pin CPU) are securely connected to the motherboard and power supply. Check the power supply unit (PSU) switch.
- No Display: Verify that the graphics card is properly seated in its PCIe slot and any necessary power cables are connected. Ensure your monitor is connected to the graphics card (or motherboard if using integrated graphics) and is powered on. Try reseating RAM modules.
- System Instability/Crashes: Check for proper CPU and GPU cooling. Ensure RAM modules are correctly installed. Update BIOS and drivers to the latest versions.
- Component Not Detected: Verify that the component (e.g., M.2 SSD, SATA drive, USB device) is correctly installed and connected. Check BIOS settings to ensure the port is enabled.
For more complex issues, consult the comprehensive user manual available on the ASRock website or contact ASRock technical support.
