1. Introduction

The TECKNET TK-SL008 Solar Fence Lights are designed to provide decorative and functional lighting for various outdoor areas such as fences, walls, railings, steps, patios, pools, and backyards. These lights feature 8 vibrant lighting modes, including warm white, 6 dazzling colors, and a dynamic RGB breathing mode. They are solar-powered, IP66 waterproof, and built for durability, offering an energy-efficient and eco-friendly lighting solution.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Initial Charge

Before first use, ensure the solar fence lights are charged for 6-10 hours in direct, unobstructed sunlight. This prevents battery drainage during extended shipping and ensures proper function when needed. After charging, test the lights in a dark environment.

3.2 Installation Methods

The lights can be installed using two methods: 3M adhesive or screws.

Method A: 3M Adhesive Installation

This method is suitable for smooth wooden or tile walls. Clean the wall surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive to ensure optimal adhesion.

1. Clean the wall surface where the solar fence light will be installed.
2. Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive strips.
3. Attach the adhesive strips to the back of the solar fence light.
4. Press the solar fence light firmly onto the cleaned wall surface.

Note: 3M adhesive is not ideal for cement or dusty surfaces as it may lose its stickiness.

Method B: Screw Installation

For a more durable and secure setup, especially on rougher surfaces like concrete or brick, screw installation is recommended.

1. Place the provided positioning paper on the wall where installation is required.
2. Use an electric drill to make holes corresponding to the small holes marked on the paper.
3. Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes.
4. Drive the screws into the anchors, leaving a small portion exposed.
5. Hang the solar fence light onto the exposed screws.

3.3 Optimal Placement Considerations

To ensure optimal performance, consider the following:

• Install the lights in a location that receives direct, unobstructed sunlight for maximum charging efficiency.
• Avoid placing the lights near strong light sources at night, as this may prevent the automatic dusk-to-dawn sensor from activating.
• Ensure there are no obstructions (e.g., leaves, branches, eaves) around the solar panel that could partially shade it and affect power generation efficiency.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The TECKNET Solar Fence Lights feature a simple push-button control for power and lighting modes.

1. Power On: Press the power button once to turn on the light. It will typically start in the RGB breathing light mode.
2. Cycle Modes: Subsequent short presses of the power button will cycle through the available lighting modes: RGB breathing, warm white, red, green, blue, pale yellow, light blue, and light purple.
3. Power Off: After cycling through all modes, the ninth short press will turn the light off completely.

4.2 Automatic Dusk-to-Dawn Operation

Once turned on and a lighting mode is selected, the solar fence lights will automatically light up at night or in dark places and turn off during the day or in bright places to charge.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning of the solar panels is essential to maintain optimal energy conversion efficiency. Dust, dirt, and debris can accumulate on the panel, reducing its ability to absorb sunlight.

• Wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth periodically.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the panel.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Light Not Turning On or Flickering

• Insufficient Charge: Ensure the solar panel receives 6-10 hours of direct, unobstructed sunlight daily. Partial shading can significantly reduce charging efficiency.
• Ambient Light Interference: The lights are designed to turn on automatically in dark conditions. If installed near other strong light sources (e.g., streetlights, porch lights), they may not activate. Relocate the lights to a darker area.
• Dirty Solar Panel: Clean the solar panel regularly to remove any dust or debris that might be blocking sunlight.
• Initial Activation: Ensure the power button has been pressed to select a lighting mode after the initial charge.
