4. Setup and Powering On

4.1. Charging the Battery

The portable DVD player is equipped with a built-in 5000mAh rechargeable battery. For optimal performance, fully charge the device before first use.

  1. Connect the AC power adapter to the DC IN port on the player.
  2. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. The charging indicator light will illuminate. The battery is fully charged when the indicator light changes color or turns off (refer to device specific indicator behavior).
  4. For car use, connect the car charger to the DC IN port and plug it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

A full charge provides approximately 6 hours of playback time.

4.2. Powering On/Off

  1. Ensure the battery is charged or the player is connected to a power source.
  2. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position.
  3. To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Disc Playback

  1. Open the disc cover gently.
  2. Place a compatible DVD or CD onto the disc spindle, ensuring it is seated correctly with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the disc cover.
  4. The player will automatically detect and begin playing the disc. If not, press the "Play" button on the player or remote control.

Supported Disc Formats: CD, DVD±R, CD-R(RW), SVCD-R(RW), DVD±RW, VCD. Note: Blu-ray discs are not supported.

5.2. USB/SD Card Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive (up to 32GB) into the USB port or an SD card (up to 32GB) into the SD card slot.
  2. Use the "Source" or "Mode" button on the player or remote to select USB or SD mode.
  3. Navigate through your files using the directional buttons and press "Play" or "OK" to start playback.

Supported File Formats: VOB, AVI, MPEG, MP3, WMA, JPEG. Note: Video files with resolution higher than 720*480 and image files higher than 2650*1440 are not supported.

5.3. Screen Rotation

The screen can be rotated for various viewing preferences:

  • 270° Horizontal Rotation: Allows the screen to swivel left or right.
  • 180° Vertical Flip: Enables the screen to fold flat against the base, converting the player into a tablet-like display.

5.4. Connecting to External Displays (TV/Projector)

You can connect the WDV02 to a larger screen using the provided AV cable.

  1. Connect one end of the 3-in-1 AV cable to the AV OUT port on the DVD player.
  2. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the corresponding AV IN ports (Yellow for Video, White for Left Audio, Red for Right Audio) on your TV or projector.
  3. Select the correct AV input source on your TV or projector.

Note: An HDMI cable is not included and HDMI output is not supported by this model.

5.5. Using Headphones

For private listening, plug any standard 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack on the side of the player.

5.6. Remote Control

The included remote control allows for convenient operation from a distance. Insert 2x AAA batteries (not included) into the remote before use.

  • Power: Turns the player on/off.
  • Play/Pause: Starts or pauses playback.
  • Stop: Stops playback.
  • Skip: Skips to the next/previous track or chapter.
  • Volume +/-: Adjusts the volume level.
  • Menu/Setup: Accesses disc or system settings.
  • Directional Buttons & OK: Navigates menus and confirms selections.
  • Subtitle: Toggles subtitles (if available on disc).
  • Mode/Source: Switches between disc, USB, and SD card modes.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Keep the player away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity.
  • Clean the screen and exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the player to strong impacts.
  • When not in use for extended periods, store the player in a cool, dry place and charge the battery periodically to maintain its health.
  • Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Clean dirty discs with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outwards.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Solution
Player does not power on.
  • Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Check if the battery is charged or if the AC adapter/car charger is properly connected.
No disc playback.
  • Verify the disc is inserted correctly with the label side up.
  • Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches.
  • Check if the disc format is supported (Blu-ray discs are not supported).
  • Try another compatible disc.
No video from USB/SD card.
  • Ensure the USB drive/SD card is properly inserted.
  • Check if the file format is supported (VOB, AVI, MPEG).
  • Verify the video resolution is not higher than 720*480.
  • Ensure the USB drive/SD card capacity does not exceed 32GB.
No sound.
  • Adjust the volume using the player's controls or remote.
  • If headphones are connected, ensure they are fully plugged in and functional.
  • If connected to a TV, check the TV's volume and input settings.
Remote control not working.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted.
  • Point the remote directly at the player's IR sensor.
  • Remove any obstacles between the remote and the player.
