5. Setup & Installation

The ALUSSO Solar Light can be installed as a single unit or with the solar panel separated from the light body, connected by a cable, to optimize sun exposure for the panel.

5.1 Choosing an Installation Location

  • Solar Panel: Select a location that receives direct sunlight for 6-8 hours daily for optimal charging. Avoid areas shaded by trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
  • Light Unit: Choose a spot where the light can effectively illuminate the desired area. The motion sensor should have a clear line of sight to the detection zone. Recommended installation height is 2-3 meters (approximately 6.5-10 feet).

5.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Mounting Surface: Mark the desired drilling points for the light unit and, if separating, for the solar panel.
  2. Drill Holes: Use an appropriate drill bit to create holes at the marked positions. Insert the expansion tubes into the drilled holes.
  3. Mount the Light Unit: Secure the light unit to the wall or eaves using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  4. Mount the Solar Panel (if separate): If installing the solar panel separately, mount it in a sunny location using the remaining screws.
  5. Connect the Solar Panel: If the solar panel is separate, connect its cable to the light unit.
  6. Adjust Light Heads and Sensor: Loosen the adjustment screws on the light heads and motion sensor. Position them to cover the desired lighting and detection areas. Tighten the screws once adjusted.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Initial Charging

For first-time use or after prolonged storage, it is recommended to fully charge the light. Place the solar panel in direct sunlight for 8-10 hours. Alternatively, use the provided Type-C cable to charge the unit for approximately 3.5 hours, especially if there is no sunlight for an extended period.

  • Power Button: Turns the light ON or OFF.
  • TEST Mode: Activates a test function for the motion sensor.
  • CCT +/-: Adjusts the color temperature (3000K Warm White, 4000K Neutral White, 6500K Cool White).
  • DIM +/-: Adjusts the brightness level (10% to 100%).
  • MODE Buttons (AUTO, D2D, ON TIME): Selects the desired operating mode.
  • Timer Buttons (30S, 1M, 2M): Sets the duration the light stays on after motion detection in AUTO or D2D modes.
  • SENS Buttons (L, H): Adjusts motion sensor sensitivity (L for 4m, H for 9m detection distance).

6.3 Lighting Modes

The light offers three distinct operating modes:

  1. Auto Mode:

In dark environments, the light automatically turns on to 100% brightness when motion is detected. It turns off completely after 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes (set by remote) if no further motion is detected.

Image: Auto Mode operation, showing the light off at 0% brightness, activating to 100% brightness upon motion detection, and then turning off after a set time (30s/1min/2min) if no motion is detected.

  2. Dusk to Dawn (D2D) Mode:

In dark environments, the light stays on at 10% brightness continuously. When motion is detected, it brightens to 100%. After 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes (set by remote) of no motion, it returns to 10% brightness.

  3. Always ON Mode:

The light will stay on for 30 minutes at a constant brightness (adjustable via DIM buttons) in both bright and dark ambient conditions. After 30 minutes, it automatically switches to AUTO mode.

6.4 Adjusting Color Temperature (CCT)

Use the "CCT +" or "CCT -" buttons on the remote control to cycle through the available color temperatures:

  • 3000K Warm White: Provides a soft, yellowish light.
  • 4000K Neutral White: Offers a balanced, natural white light.
  • 6500K Cool White: Delivers a bright, bluish-white light.
