1. Introduction

Welcome to the Toladrone TD12Pro Drone user manual. This guide provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your new drone. The TD12Pro is a foldable RC quadcopter equipped with a 1080P HD camera, brushless motors, and optical flow positioning, designed for both beginners and experienced pilots.

2. Safety Guidelines

Before operating the TD12Pro drone, please read and understand all safety instructions. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury, damage to the drone, or property damage.

  • Flight Environment: Fly in open areas, away from people, animals, buildings, and power lines. Avoid flying near airports or restricted airspace.
  • Weather Conditions: Do not fly in strong winds (above Level 3 wind resistance), rain, snow, or fog.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the provided battery and charging cable. Do not overcharge or puncture the battery. Discontinue use if the battery is damaged or swollen.
  • Propeller Safety: Keep hands, face, and loose clothing away from rotating propellers. Ensure propellers are securely attached before flight.
  • Line of Sight: Always maintain visual line of sight with the drone during flight.
  • Age Recommendation: This drone is recommended for users aged 14 and above.
  • Local Regulations: Be aware of and comply with all local drone regulations and laws.

4. Components Overview

4.1 Drone

The TD12Pro drone features a foldable design for portability, brushless motors for stable flight, and a 1080P HD camera with 90° electric adjustment.

4.2 Remote Control

The remote control provides intuitive flight controls and a holder for your smartphone to view live camera feed.

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Remove the modular battery from the drone.
  2. Connect the charging cable to the battery and a USB power adapter (not included).
  3. The indicator light on the battery will show charging status. Charge time is approximately 60-90 minutes.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the battery.

5.2 Installing the Battery

  1. Ensure the drone is powered off.
  2. Insert the charged modular battery into the battery compartment on the drone until it clicks into place.

5.3 Propeller Installation

The drone comes with propellers pre-installed. If replacement is needed:

  1. Identify the 'A' and 'B' markings on the propellers and drone arms.
  2. Attach 'A' propellers to 'A' motor shafts and 'B' propellers to 'B' motor shafts.
  3. Secure with the provided screws and screwdriver.

5.4 Remote Control Setup

  1. Install 3x AAA batteries (not included) into the remote control.
  2. Extend the phone holder on the remote control.

5.5 App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download the "Toladrone" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android).
  2. Power on the drone and place it on a flat, level surface.
  3. Power on the remote control.
  4. On your smartphone, connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named "TD12Pro-XXXXXX").
  5. Open the Toladrone app. The app should automatically connect to the drone.
  6. Calibrate the drone by pushing both joysticks down and outwards simultaneously until the drone's lights flash and then become solid.

6. Operating the Drone

6.1 Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Ensure drone and remote control batteries are fully charged.
  • Check propellers for damage and ensure they are securely attached.
  • Confirm drone is calibrated on a flat surface.
  • Verify a stable Wi-Fi connection between the drone and your smartphone.
  • Choose an open, safe flying area.

6.2 Takeoff and Landing

  • One-Key Takeoff: Press the one-key takeoff button on the remote control (or in the app). The drone will automatically ascend to a stable hovering altitude.
  • Manual Takeoff: Push both joysticks inwards and down to start the motors. Then, slowly push the left joystick up to ascend.
  • One-Key Landing: Press the one-key landing button. The drone will automatically descend and land.
  • Manual Landing: Slowly pull the left joystick down to descend. Once landed, push both joysticks inwards and down to stop the motors.

6.3 Basic Flight Controls

  • Left Joystick (Throttle/Yaw):
    • Up/Down: Ascend/Descend
    • Left/Right: Rotate Left/Right (Yaw)
  • Right Joystick (Pitch/Roll):
    • Up/Down: Fly Forward/Backward (Pitch)
    • Left/Right: Fly Left/Right (Roll)
  • Speed Modes: The drone offers 3 speed modes (low, medium, high). Press the speed button on the remote to cycle through them.
  • Altitude Hold: The drone maintains its current altitude automatically, allowing for easier control.
  • Headless Mode: In Headless Mode, the drone's orientation is relative to the pilot, regardless of the drone's front direction. Activate this mode via the remote control.

6.4 Camera Operation

The TD12Pro is equipped with a 1080P HD camera and a secondary optical flow camera.

  • Photo/Video: Use the dedicated buttons on the remote control or the app interface to take photos or start/stop video recording.
  • 90° Electric Adjustment: Adjust the camera angle remotely via the remote control or app for optimal shooting perspectives.
  • Optical Flow Positioning: The bottom camera assists with precise hovering and stable flight, especially indoors or at low altitudes.

6.5 Advanced Features

  • 360° Flips: Press the flip button and move the right joystick in the desired direction to perform an aerial flip.
  • Waypoint Flight: In the app, draw a path on the map, and the drone will automatically follow it.
  • Gravity Sensing: Control the drone's flight direction by tilting your smartphone (requires app activation).

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone and remote control. Do not use solvents.
  • Propeller Care: Regularly inspect propellers for cracks or damage. Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spares.
  • Battery Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place, partially charged (around 50-60%) if not used for extended periods.
  • Motor Care: Keep motors free from dust and debris. Avoid flying in sandy or dusty environments.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the drone and store it in its carrying case to prevent damage.
