Setup and Assembly

Assembly may require two people, especially during wall mounting. Use a screwdriver to mark hole positions before drilling. Ensure all 6 holes align properly. For drywall homes, we recommend securing one side of the holes to the studs for durable stability and wall protection.

  1. Assemble the Base: Attach the shortest scratching post (K) to the base plate (A) using screw G1.
  2. Build Upwards: Continue adding platforms (B, C, D) and scratching posts (I, J, K) in ascending order, securing each with the appropriate screws (G1, G2, G3) as indicated in the diagram.
  3. Attach Wall Mount Brackets: Secure the wall mount brackets (E) to the designated platforms using screws (G3).
  4. Mark Wall Holes: Position the assembled cat tree against the desired wall. Use a pencil to mark the locations for all 6 screws through the wall mount brackets (E).
  5. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked locations. The type of drill bit and anchor will depend on your wall material (concrete/solid wall or drywall).
  6. Install Anchors and Screws:
    • For Concrete/Solid Walls: Insert anchors (G5) into the drilled holes, then secure the brackets with screws (G4).
    • For Drywall: Use a stud finder to locate wall studs. Secure at least one side of the brackets to a stud using screws (G4). For holes not aligned with studs, insert drywall anchors (G7) and then secure with screws (G6).
  7. Final Tightening: Once mounted, ensure all screws are tightly fastened for maximum stability.
  8. Apply Carpet Pads: Attach the non-slip carpet pads (F, G, H) to the platforms. These pads feature Velcro for easy removal and cleaning.

Operating Instructions

The Aechonow Wall-Mounted Cat Tree provides a multi-level environment for your cat's natural instincts to climb, scratch, and observe.

  • Climbing and Exploration: Cats can freely ascend and descend the various platforms. The design ensures ample space for safe jumping between levels.
  • Scratching Posts: The tightly wound jute posts simulate tree bark, providing an ideal surface for your cat to sharpen claws and stretch.
  • Perching and Lookout: The 15.8-inch top perch bed offers a comfortable and secure spot for large adult cats, including breeds like Maine Coons and Ragdolls, to rest and survey their surroundings.
  • Adjustable Platforms: Two floating perches (Part C) can swivel 180 degrees, allowing you to customize the layout to create unique climbing paths or fit into specific spaces like stair corners. The overall height can also be adjusted by removing posts if needed.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your cat tree.

  • Cleaning: Clean the wooden surfaces with a dry or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Carpet Pads: The non-slip carpet pads are removable (Velcro attachment) for easy cleaning. Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, then air dry.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections for tightness. Re-tighten as necessary. Inspect scratching posts for excessive wear and tear.
  • Storage: Store indoors to protect the materials from environmental damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Aechonow Cat Tree, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Tree feels wobbly after installation: Ensure all wall mounting screws are securely fastened. For drywall installations, verify that at least one side is anchored to a wall stud. If using drywall anchors, confirm they are correctly installed and rated for the weight.
  • Carpet pads do not stay attached: The pads are designed with Velcro. Ensure both surfaces (pad and platform) are clean and dry before attaching. If the Velcro wears out over time, replacement Velcro strips can be applied.
  • Cat is not using the tree: Encourage your cat by placing treats or favorite toys on the platforms. You can also use catnip to attract them to the scratching posts.
