Follow these steps to set up your EAFC Smart Battery Charger:

  1. Prepare the Battery: Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If necessary, clean them with a wire brush.
  2. Connect to Battery:
    • Connect the red (+) clamp of the charger to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
    • Connect the black (-) clamp of the charger to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
    • Ensure a secure connection. The charger has reverse polarity protection, but correct connection is always recommended.
  3. Connect to Power: Plug the charger's AC power cord into a standard 100-240V AC wall outlet. The charger display will illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

Once connected, the charger will automatically detect the battery voltage and display it. Follow these steps to begin charging:

  1. Mode Selection: Press the "MODE" button (usually a circular button on the display) to cycle through the available charging modes:
    • CAR Mode: For conventional 12V lead-acid batteries (dry battery, water battery, lead-acid, maintenance-free battery).
    • AGM/LiFePO4 Mode: For AGM/EFB batteries and LiFePO4 batteries. This mode is optimized for these battery types, offering 3-5 times the lifespan of a regular battery.
    • MOTO Mode: For small capacity 12V lead-acid batteries typically found in motorcycles.
    • REPAIR Mode: For activating or repairing deeply discharged or sulfated batteries. This mode uses pulse repair technology to address battery feeding inability or high internal resistance.

  2. Charging Process: Once a mode is selected, the charger will automatically begin the charging process. The display will show the current voltage, current, and the "CHARGING" indicator will be lit.
  3. Charging Completion: When the battery is fully charged, the display will show "FULL" and the charger will automatically switch to trickle charge or maintenance mode to prevent overcharging. The "FULL" indicator will be lit.
  4. Disconnecting:
    • First, unplug the charger from the AC power outlet.
    • Then, disconnect the black (-) clamp from the negative battery terminal.
    • Finally, disconnect the red (+) clamp from the positive battery terminal.
