3. Installation

This security light requires hardwired installation. Ensure you have the necessary tools and follow local electrical codes.

• Mounting Hardware (Screws, Wire Nuts, Mounting Bracket, Rubber Plug, Foam Pad, Mounting Plate Screws)

Installation Steps:

1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the light fixture and turn off the power.
2. Prepare Mounting Surface: Ensure the mounting surface is clean and stable. A junction box (not included) is required for hardwired connection.
3. Attach Mounting Bracket: Secure the provided mounting bracket to your existing junction box.
4. Wire Connections: Connect the electrical wires from the fixture to your household wiring. Typically, this involves connecting Live (black), Neutral (white), and Earth (green/yellow) wires using the provided wire nuts. Ensure connections are secure.
5. Secure Fixture: Carefully align the light fixture with the mounting bracket and secure it using the provided screws. Place the foam pad and waterproof gasket between the fixture and the mounting surface to ensure a watertight seal.
6. Adjust Light Heads and Sensor: Loosen the screws on the light heads and motion sensor to adjust their angles. Tighten the screws once the desired positions are achieved.
7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

4. Operating Modes

The UME LED Security Light offers four versatile lighting modes and adjustable settings for distance and time. The control dials are located on the underside of the motion sensor.

Motion Sensor Settings:

• Distance: Adjust the detection range of the motion sensor.
  • L (Low): Approximately 0-20 feet
  • M (Medium): Approximately 0-39 feet
  • H (High): Approximately 0-69 feet
• Time: Set how long the light stays on after motion is detected and then ceases.
  • 1 MIN: 1 minute
  • 3 MIN: 3 minutes
  • 10 MIN: 10 minutes

Lighting Modes:

• Security Mode: The light remains off until motion is detected at night. Upon detection, it illuminates at 100% brightness and turns off after motion ceases and the set time expires.
• Dusk to Dawn Mode: The light maintains a low brightness (20%) throughout the night. When motion is detected, it activates to 100% brightness and returns to 20% after motion ceases and the set time expires.
• Manual Override Mode: To activate, quickly flip the wall switch controlling the light ON-OFF-ON within 3 seconds. The light will stay on at 100% brightness for 6 hours, regardless of day or night. To exit this mode, turn the wall switch OFF and then ON again.
• Test Mode: Used for testing the motion sensor's functionality during installation. In this mode, the light will turn on for a short period (e.g., a few seconds) each time motion is detected, regardless of ambient light levels.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your UME LED Security Light.

• Cleaning: Clean the fixture and sensor lens periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or sensor.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the wiring and mounting hardware for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening. Tighten any loose screws.
• No User-Serviceable Parts: The LED bulbs are integrated and not replaceable. Do not attempt to open or repair the fixture, as this will void the warranty.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your UME LED Security Light, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Light Not Turning On:
  • Check if the power is ON at the circuit breaker.
  • Verify sensor settings (Distance, Time, Mode) are correctly configured.
  • Ensure there is no excessive ambient light preventing the sensor from activating at night.
• Light Stays On Constantly:
  • Check if the light is in Manual Override Mode. If so, cycle the wall switch OFF-ON to return to normal operation.
  • Ensure the sensor is not detecting constant motion from objects like swaying trees, traffic, or pets. Adjust the sensor angle or distance setting.
  • Verify the 'Time' setting is not set too long.
• Motion Not Detected:
  • Adjust the sensor angle to cover the desired area.
  • Increase the 'Distance' setting on the sensor.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor's view.
• Light Flickers:
  • Check all wire connections for tightness and proper insulation.
  • Ensure the power supply is stable.
