4. Setup & Assembly

The ModernMate Mobile File Cabinet F1 requires assembly. Please follow the included detailed instructions carefully. Ensure all parts are present before beginning assembly.

Assembly Steps (General Guidance):

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Verify all hardware and panels are present against the parts list in your instruction manual.
2. Assemble Frame: Attach the side panels to the base and top panels using the provided fasteners. Ensure all connections are snug.
3. Install Shelves: Insert the fixed shelves into the designated slots within the open storage compartments.
4. Assemble Drawers: Construct each of the three drawers by attaching the sides, front, and back panels to the drawer bottom. Install the drawer slides onto the drawer boxes.
5. Install Drawer Slides to Cabinet: Attach the corresponding drawer slides to the interior of the cabinet frame.
6. Insert Drawers: Carefully slide the assembled drawers into the cabinet frame, ensuring they glide smoothly.
7. Attach Casters: Secure the four 360° swivel casters to the bottom of the cabinet base. Ensure two of the casters are lockable and positioned for easy access.

5. Operation

Using the Drawers:

The cabinet features three smooth wooden drawers. To open, gently pull the gold metal handle. To close, push the drawer back until it is fully seated. Avoid forcing drawers if they encounter resistance.

Utilizing Open Storage:

The open storage compartments are designed for easy access to frequently used items or for displaying decorative pieces. Ensure items placed on shelves do not exceed the depth or height of the compartment to maintain stability.

Moving and Locking the Cabinet:

The cabinet is equipped with four 360° swivel casters for easy movement. To move the cabinet, unlock any engaged casters and gently push it to the desired location. To secure the cabinet in place, press down on the locking mechanism located on two of the casters until they click into the locked position. Ensure all lockable casters are engaged for maximum stability.

• Ensure the drawer slides are correctly aligned and installed on both the drawer and the cabinet frame.
• Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the drawer slides if they are dry.
• Verify that the drawer is not overloaded.

Casters are difficult to move or lock:

• Check for debris or hair caught in the caster wheels.
• Ensure the locking mechanism is fully disengaged when attempting to move the cabinet.
• Apply a lubricant to the caster axles if they are stiff.
