4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your DAYBETTER Outdoor String Lights:

  1. Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the string and bulbs for any signs of damage. If any damage is found, do not proceed with installation and contact customer support.
  2. Plan Your Layout: Determine where you want to hang your string lights. Consider the length of the string (120ft) and the location of a suitable outdoor power outlet. Ensure the path for the lights avoids sharp objects or areas where they might be easily damaged.
  3. Hang the String: Securely hang the empty string light strand in your desired location. Each socket has a built-in clip for easy attachment to guide wires, hooks, or other support structures. For longer spans or heavier installations, using a separate guide wire (not included) is recommended to reduce strain on the string.
  4. Install Bulbs: Once the string is securely hung, carefully screw each ST38 LED bulb into its respective socket. Ensure bulbs are screwed in firmly but do not overtighten.
  5. Connect Multiple Strands (Optional): If you have purchased multiple sets and wish to connect them, ensure the total wattage does not exceed the maximum rating for the circuit. Connect the end-to-end plug of one string to the receptacle of another. Secure any unused end receptacles with the provided cap (if included) to prevent moisture ingress.
  6. Plug In: Plug the main power cord into a GFCI-protected outdoor electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Operating your DAYBETTER Outdoor String Lights is straightforward:

  • Power On/Off: Once plugged into a live GFCI outlet, the lights will illuminate. To turn them off, simply unplug the power cord from the outlet. For automated control, consider using an outdoor timer or smart plug (not included).
  • Dimmability: These string lights are compatible with most dimmers on the market. If you wish to adjust the brightness, you can connect them to a compatible outdoor dimmer switch (dimmer not included). Ensure the dimmer is rated for outdoor use and matches the electrical specifications of the lights.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan of your string lights:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the bulbs and cord with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure the lights are unplugged and completely dry before plugging them back in. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Bulb Replacement: If a bulb stops working, first ensure it is screwed in tightly. If it still doesn't light, unplug the string, carefully unscrew the faulty bulb, and replace it with a new ST38 E12 base LED bulb (1W). Use the spare bulb provided or purchase replacements with matching specifications.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, or during severe weather, unplug the lights and store them in a cool, dry place. Coil the string neatly to prevent tangling and damage.
