3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Door Compatibility

The BIWIBON BCA-02 lock is designed to fit most standard American wooden doors. It is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed doors without requiring special adjustments for handle direction.

3.2 Mechanical Installation

Follow these steps for physical installation:

  1. Use the provided drill template to mark and prepare the door.
  2. Adjust the backset of the latch to 60mm (2-3/8") or 70mm (2-3/4") according to your door size. Ensure the latch is horizontal.
  3. Install the latch into the door and secure it with screw A. Ensure the slotted hole is centered.
  4. Install the front handle: Fix and tighten the spiral tubes. Route the wire through the square cotter and insert it into the latch hole, then fix the front panel.
  5. Install the back handle: Remove the battery cover. Route the wire through the back panel. Connect the wire on the battery box, ensuring a tight connection. Install 4 AAA alkaline batteries (not included). Fix the back handle with screw B.

3.3 App Installation and Pairing

To utilize the smart features, download the 'Tuya Smart' app from Google Play or the App Store. Follow the in-app instructions to register and log in. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on to add the lock. The app will automatically detect the 'DLOCK' device. After adding, you can name your lock.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Unlocking Methods

  • Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered finger on the sensor. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.
  • Password Unlock: Enter your 8-10 digit password on the keypad. The anti-peeping feature allows you to enter random digits before and after your actual code for added security.
  • IC Card Unlock: Tap your registered IC card against the designated area on the lock.
  • App Unlock: Within Bluetooth range (12-20 meters), open the Tuya Smart app and slide the unlock icon to the right.
  • Mechanical Key Unlock: Use the provided backup keys for traditional unlocking.

4.2 Adding Users (Fingerprints, Codes, IC Cards)

All user management is done through the Tuya Smart app:

  1. Navigate to 'Member Management' in the app.
  2. Select 'Me Admin'.
  3. Choose to add a Fingerprint, Code, or IC Card.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts: for fingerprints, place your finger on the sensor 4 times; for codes, enter an 8-10 digit password; for IC cards, place the card on the screen for 2 seconds.
  5. Enter a name for the added credential and tap 'OK'.

4.3 Passage Mode

Passage Mode allows the door to remain unlocked for convenient entry and exit without verification. To activate/deactivate:

  1. Go to 'Settings' in the app.
  2. Toggle 'Auto Lock' off to enable Free Passage Mode.
  3. Place a registered finger on the fingerprint reader to activate/deactivate the mode.

4.4 Remote Access (with BIWIBON Gateway)

If you have a BIWIBON Gateway (sold separately), you can connect it to your lock for remote functionality, including locking/unlocking, issuing time-limited codes, and monitoring access records from anywhere. The gateway also enables voice control via Alexa or Google Home.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The lock requires 4 AAA alkaline batteries. When the battery is low, the lock will provide warning signals. Replace all four batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

5.2 General Care

Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components. Ensure the fingerprint sensor and keypad are free from dirt and moisture for optimal performance.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are depleted, use a power bank via the Type-C port for emergency power or use the mechanical backup keys.
  • Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint if issues persist. The sensor has a high recognition rate, but proper placement is crucial.
  • App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and you are within range of the lock. If using a gateway, verify its connection to Wi-Fi and the lock.
  • Forgot password: Use the app to generate a new code or use a registered fingerprint/IC card/mechanical key to unlock.
  • Restoring to Factory Default: In the Tuya Smart app, navigate to the device settings, select 'Remove Device', then 'Disconnect and wipe data', and confirm. This will delete all registered users and settings.
