4.1 Pad Layout

The OYAYO TD02 features 9 velocity-sensitive pads, each assigned to a specific drum or cymbal sound. The layout is designed to mimic a traditional drum kit for intuitive play.

  • 1. Left Crash Cymbal: Produces a crash cymbal sound.
  • 2. Right Crash Cymbal: Produces a crash cymbal sound.
  • 3. Ride Cymbal: Produces a ride cymbal sound.
  • 4. High Tom: Produces a high tom drum sound.
  • 5. Low-Mid Tom: Produces a low-mid tom drum sound.
  • 6. Low Floor Tom: Produces a low floor tom drum sound.
  • 7. Snare: Produces a snare drum sound.
  • 8. Open/Close Hi-Hat: Produces hi-hat sounds. The sound changes when the hi-hat pedal is pressed.

4.2 Interface Details

  • AUX Interface: For connecting external audio sources.

5. Setup

5.1 Powering On/Off

The TD02 can be powered via the included DC5V adapter or its built-in 2000mAh rechargeable battery.

  • To Power On: Connect the DC5V adapter to the USB interface or ensure the internal battery is charged. Press the power button located on the control panel.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.
  • Charging: Connect the USB-C cable to the USB interface and the power adapter to a wall outlet. The LED indicator will show charging status.

5.2 Connecting Pedals

Connect the two foot pedals to the designated Pedal 1 (Hi-HAT) and Pedal 2 (KICK) inputs on the rear panel. These pedals enhance the drumming experience by providing control over the hi-hat and bass drum.

5.3 Audio Output

  • Built-in Speakers: The TD02 has integrated dual stereo speakers for direct sound output.
  • Headphones: For silent practice, connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the Headphone Jack. This will mute the built-in speakers.
  • External Speakers/Amplifier: For louder output, connect the Audio Interface to an external speaker system or amplifier using an appropriate audio cable.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Drumming

Strike the pads with the included drumsticks. The velocity-sensitive pads respond to how hard you hit them, producing dynamic sound variations. The LED lights on each pad illuminate upon impact, providing visual feedback.

6.2 Sound Selection and Demo Songs

The TD02 offers 16 preset drum kits and 10 demo songs to explore various musical styles.

  • Use the control panel buttons and rotary knob to navigate through the available drum kits and demo songs.
  • Refer to the LCD screen for current selections and settings.

6.3 Recording Function

The TD02 includes a recording function to capture your performances.

  • Press the REC button on the control panel to start recording.
  • Press REC again to stop recording.
  • Playback options are available through the control panel.

6.4 MIDI Connectivity (Mac & PC Support)

Connect the TD02 to your computer (Mac or PC) via the included USB-C cable for MIDI functionality. This allows the drum pad to act as a MIDI controller for various software applications.

  • USB Connection: Connect the USB-C cable from the drum pad to your computer. The device should be recognized automatically.
  • MIDI Software: Each drum pad sends a unique MIDI note, enabling seamless integration with popular VST software such as EZDrummer, Addictive Drums, and other digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Bluetooth MIDI: The TD02 also supports Bluetooth MIDI connectivity for wireless integration with compatible devices and software.

7. Maintenance
