Setup and Connection

Charging the Controller

Before first use, fully charge your controller using the included charging dock and USB-C cable. The controller can also be charged directly via a USB-C cable.

Connecting to PC (2.4G Wireless)

  1. Insert the 2.4G USB-C adapter into an available USB port on your PC.
  2. Ensure the mode switch on the back of the controller is set to 'X' (for XInput, compatible with PC).
  3. Turn on the controller. It should automatically connect to the adapter. The controller will also automatically connect when removed from the charging dock if the dock is connected to your PC.

Connecting to Android (Bluetooth)

  1. Ensure the mode switch on the back of the controller is set to 'D' (for DInput, compatible with Android).
  2. On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
  3. Press and hold the Pair button on the controller until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
  4. Select "8Bitdo Ultimate 2" from the list of available devices on your Android device to pair.

Wired Connection

Connect the controller directly to your PC or Android device using a USB-C cable. The controller will automatically switch to wired mode.

Customize your gaming experience with the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2. This software allows you to:

  • Map buttons and create macros.
  • Adjust joystick and trigger sensitivity.

Trigger Mode Switch

The controller features a physical switch on the back to toggle between linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers. Choose the mode that best suits your game or preference.

Pro-level Back Buttons

Utilize the two programmable back buttons (M1, M2) for quick access to frequently used commands or complex macros. Configure these through the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

Controller Not Connecting
