5. Installation Guide
5.1 Tools Required (Not Included)
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Wire strippers
- Pliers
- Electrical tape
- Ladder (if installing at height)
- Safety glasses
5.2 Mounting Location
- Mount the fixture on a wall or eave.
- For optimal motion sensor performance, install the light 6-10 feet above the ground.
- Avoid aiming the sensor at reflective surfaces, heat sources, or areas with heavy traffic to prevent false triggers.

5.3 Wiring Instructions
- Turn off power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and turn off the power to the junction box where the light will be installed.
- Prepare mounting plate: Remove the mounting plate from the fixture.
- Attach mounting plate: Secure the mounting plate to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure the plate is flush with the mounting surface.
- Connect wires:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the green (ground) wire from the fixture to the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the junction box.
- Mount fixture: Carefully tuck the wires into the junction box. Align the fixture with the mounting plate and secure it with the provided screws.
- Seal: Apply silicone sealant around the edges of the fixture base to prevent water intrusion.
- Restore power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
6. Operating Instructions
Your Maxxima LED Security Light features adjustable settings for Color Temperature (CCT), Motion Sensor Sensitivity, and Lighting Time. These settings are controlled by dials located on the bottom of the motion sensor unit.

Figure 6: Close-up view of the control dials on the motion sensor, indicating settings for CCT, Sensitivity, and Lighting Time.
6.1 Adjusting Color Temperature (CCT)
The CCT dial allows you to select the desired light color output.
- Rotate the CCT dial to choose from:
- 2700K: Warm White
- 3000K: Soft White
- 4000K: Cool White
- 5000K: Daylight
- 6500K: Bright White
6.2 Adjusting Motion Sensor Sensitivity
The Sensitivity dial controls how easily the motion sensor is triggered.
- Rotate the Sensitivity dial to choose from:
- LOW: Less sensitive, requires more significant motion.
- MEDIUM: Standard sensitivity.
- HIGH: Most sensitive, detects minor movements.
6.3 Adjusting Lighting Time
The Lighting Time dial determines how long the light remains on after motion is detected and the area is clear.
- Rotate the Lighting Time dial to choose from:
- 1 MIN: Light stays on for 1 minute.
- 5 MIN: Light stays on for 5 minutes.
- 10 MIN: Light stays on for 10 minutes.
- 15 MIN: Light stays on for 15 minutes.
- 5s (TEST): For testing purposes, light stays on for 5 seconds.
- Dusk to Dawn: Light remains on from dusk until dawn, overriding motion sensor functionality.
Note: When "Dusk to Dawn" is selected, the motion sensor is bypassed, and the light will operate continuously from dusk until dawn based on the photocell sensor.
6.4 Adjusting Light Head Position
The two LED light heads can be independently adjusted to direct illumination precisely where needed.
- Each head can rotate up to 270° horizontally.
- Each head can tilt up to 45° vertically.
- Gently loosen the adjustment screws, position the heads, and then tighten the screws to secure.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the fixture with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the fixture for any damage to the wiring or housing.
- LEDs: The LEDs are integrated and not user-replaceable.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on. | No power, faulty wiring, photocell detecting daylight. | Check circuit breaker. Verify wiring connections. Test at night or cover photocell. |
| Light stays on continuously. | "Dusk to Dawn" mode selected, constant motion detected, sensor obstructed. | Adjust "Lighting Time" dial away from "Dusk to Dawn". Clear obstructions from sensor. Adjust sensor sensitivity. |
| Light turns on for no apparent reason (false triggers). | High sensitivity, heat sources, reflective surfaces, small animals. | Reduce "Sensitivity" setting. Reposition sensor to avoid heat vents or reflective objects. |
| Light does not detect motion. | Low sensitivity, sensor obstructed, incorrect angle. | Increase "Sensitivity" setting. Clear obstructions. Adjust sensor angle for optimal coverage. |
