3.2 Operating Modes

The hood can operate in two modes:

  • Extraction Mode: Air is drawn from the kitchen, filtered, and expelled outside through an exhaust duct. This mode requires an external ducting system.
  • Recirculation Mode: Air is drawn from the kitchen, filtered through a grease filter and an activated carbon filter, and then returned to the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external ducting is not possible. The CF132 activated carbon filter is included for this mode.

5.2 Cleaning/Replacing Grease Filters

The multi-layer aluminum grease filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to maintain suction efficiency and prevent fire hazards. These filters are typically dishwasher safe.

  1. To remove, locate the release latches on the filters and gently pull them down.
  2. Wash the filters by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
  3. To re-install, align the filters with their slots and push until they click into place.

  1. Remove the grease filters as described above.
  2. Locate the activated carbon filters (circular, usually attached to the motor housing).
  3. Twist or unclip the old carbon filters to remove them.
  4. Install new CF132 carbon filters by twisting or clipping them into place.
