1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ALFORDSON Oswin Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new chair. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your ALFORDSON Oswin Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.

  1. Attach Casters to Base: Insert the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the chair base. Push firmly until they click into place.
  2. Install Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the assembled chair base.
  3. Assemble Seat Mechanism: Attach the seat mechanism to the underside of the seat cushion using the provided screws. Ensure the front of the mechanism faces the front of the seat.
  4. Attach Armrests: Secure the armrests to the seat cushion using the designated screws. Pay attention to the 'L' (left) and 'R' (right) markings.
  5. Connect Backrest: Attach the backrest to the seat mechanism using the appropriate screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  6. Mount Headrest: Slide the headrest into the designated slots at the top of the backrest. Adjust to your preferred height.
  7. Attach Footrest (if applicable): If your model includes a retractable footrest, attach it according to the specific instructions provided in the hardware kit.
  8. Connect Seat to Base: Carefully place the assembled seat onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring it is centered.

4. Operating Instructions and Adjustments

Your ALFORDSON Oswin chair offers multiple adjustment options to customize your seating experience for optimal comfort and ergonomic support.

4.1 Seat Height Adjustment

To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side under the seat. Pull the lever up while seated to lower the chair, or pull the lever up while standing to raise the chair. Release the lever at your desired height.

4.2 Backrest Tilt and Lock Function

The chair features a tilt function allowing the backrest to recline up to 150 degrees. To recline, pull the tilt lever (usually on the left side) outwards. To lock the backrest in a desired position, push the lever inwards. To return to an upright position, lean forward slightly and pull the lever outwards, then release it when upright.

4.3 3D Adjustable Armrests

The armrests can be adjusted in three dimensions:

  • Height Adjustment: Press the button on the side of the armrest and move it up or down. Release the button to lock.
  • Forward/Backward Adjustment: Slide the armrest pad forward or backward to find your preferred position.
  • Rotation: Rotate the armrest pad left or right (up to 60 degrees) for optimal wrist and forearm support.

4.4 Adjustable Headrest

The headrest can be adjusted for height and angle. Gently push or pull the headrest to move it up or down. Tilt it forward or backward to support your neck and head comfortably.

4.5 Self-Adjusting Lumbar Support

The chair features a self-adjusting lumbar support system designed to conform to the natural curve of your spine. Some models may also offer manual adjustment for depth or height of the lumbar support. Refer to the specific controls on the backrest for fine-tuning.

4.6 Retractable Footrest

To use the footrest, pull it out from under the seat. Extend it to your desired length and angle. To retract, push it back under the seat until it is fully stored.

5. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance will prolong the life and appearance of your office chair.

  • Cleaning: Wipe mesh and plastic surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap solution and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Casters: Keep casters free of hair and debris to ensure smooth movement.
  • Gas Lift: The gas lift is a sealed unit and requires no maintenance. Do not attempt to disassemble it.
