5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Mounting Options

The NavaReef 65 offers two primary mounting methods: the included Tank Mount and an optional Hanging Kit (sold separately).

5.1.1 Tank Mount Installation

The standard tank mount allows for easy attachment to rimmed or rimless aquariums. Ensure your aquarium's thickness (including rim) does not exceed 1 3/16 inches for proper fit.

  1. Assemble the tank mount arm and clamp according to the diagrams provided in the package.
  2. Attach the light fixture to the top of the mount arm using the provided screws.
  3. Position the clamp onto the edge of your aquarium and tighten the screws securely until the mount is stable.
  4. Adjust the height and angle of the light fixture as needed for optimal coverage.

5.1.2 Hanging Kit Installation (Optional)

For open-top aquarium installations, a hanging kit (sold separately) can be used to suspend the light above the tank.

  1. Securely attach the hanging kit cables to the designated points on the light fixture.
  2. Install the hanging kit suspension system to a sturdy overhead structure, ensuring it can safely support the weight of the light.
  3. Adjust the cable length to achieve the desired height above the water surface.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power cord to the power adapter.
  2. Plug the power adapter into the light fixture.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure before plugging the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Control Panel and Built-in Timer

The NavaReef 65 features an integrated control panel with a built-in timer for basic operation. The light offers 7 preset color settings, 4 timer modes (6H/8H/10H/12H), 5% brightness adjustment increments, and a 30-minute sunrise/sunset simulation.

6.1.1 Manual On/Off and Brightness Adjustment

  • Press the power button to turn the light on or off.
  • Use the brightness adjustment buttons (up/down arrows) to cycle through intensity levels in 5% increments.

6.1.2 Setting the Built-in Timer

The built-in timer allows for automated on/off cycles with sunrise and sunset effects. Note that changing light intensity or color settings after the timer is set may reset the timer cycle. For advanced scheduling, an external controller is recommended.

  1. Select your desired light spectrum and brightness level.
  2. Press the timer button to cycle through the available timer modes (6H, 8H, 10H, 12H). The light will turn on for the selected duration and then turn off automatically.
  3. The 30-minute sunrise and sunset simulation will automatically engage at the beginning and end of the selected timer cycle.

6.2 External Controller Connectivity

The NavaReef 65 is compatible with external controllers (sold separately) for more advanced customization of light schedules, spectrum, and intensity. Refer to the external controller's manual for specific setup and programming instructions.

6.3 Spectrum and PAR Output

The NavaReef 65 focuses its power within the 440-480nm wavelength range, which is crucial for enhancing coral fluorescence and promoting growth. The custom 90° beam-angle lens optics ensure concentrated PAR output and optimal coverage, even in deeper aquariums.

7. Maintenance

To clean the dust mesh:
