5. Maintenance and Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your bed frame.
- Cleaning Metal Parts: Wipe metal surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning Upholstered Parts: For the fabric headboard and footboard, spot clean with a mild detergent and a clean, damp cloth. Blot dry. Do not saturate the fabric.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically (every 3-6 months) check all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary to prevent squeaking or instability.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fabric upholstery to fade.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bed frame is wobbly or unstable. | Loose bolts or uneven support legs. | Ensure all bolts are securely tightened. Check that all support legs are making firm contact with the floor and are evenly adjusted. |
| Squeaking noises. | Loose connections, friction between metal parts, or mattress movement. | Re-tighten all bolts. Apply a small amount of lubricant (e.g., silicone spray) to metal-on-metal contact points if necessary. Ensure the mattress is properly seated. |
| Slats are falling out. | Slats not properly seated or frame is not square. | Ensure each slat is fully inserted into its designated slot. Verify the bed frame is assembled squarely. |
