Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press the power button (G symbol) to turn the device on. Press and hold the power button to turn it off.

AC Voltage Detection (NCV Mode)

The AN101 uses a non-contact voltage (NCV) inductive probe to detect AC voltage. Simply place the tip of the tester near a terminal strip, outlet, or power cord. When voltage is detected:

  • The pen tip will glow red.
  • The device will emit an audible beep.
  • The LCD screen will indicate the presence of voltage.

The frequency of the beep and the intensity of the red light will increase as the tester gets closer to the voltage source or detects higher voltage.

Neutral/Live Wire Judgement

The device automatically detects and distinguishes between live and neutral wires:

  • Live Wire: When a live wire is detected, the LCD screen will display red, and the device will beep at a higher frequency.
  • Neutral Wire or Ground Line: When a neutral or ground line is detected, the LCD screen will display green, and the buzzer will beep slowly.

To identify a neutral wire, hold the sensor end of the test pencil close to the object. If the simulated grid point lights up green and the buzzer beeps slowly, it indicates a neutral wire.

Adjusting NCV Sensitivity

The NCV seek sensitivity can be toggled by pressing the 'S' key. This allows for adjustment based on the testing environment and desired detection range.

LED Flashlight

The AN101 includes a bright white LED flashlight for working in dimly lit environments. Press the flashlight button (light bulb symbol) to turn it on or off.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your Srliya AN101 Voltage Tester, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the tester in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries as soon as the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings and proper operation.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the device for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the casing or a damaged probe tip. Do not use if damaged.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Dead or incorrectly installed batteries.Check battery polarity. Replace with new 1.5V AAA batteries.
Inconsistent or no voltage detection.Low battery; incorrect sensitivity setting; interference.Replace batteries. Adjust NCV sensitivity using the 'S' key. Ensure no strong electromagnetic interference.
Flashlight not working.Low battery; flashlight button not pressed correctly.Replace batteries. Press the flashlight button firmly.
Incorrect live/neutral wire indication.Weak signal; environmental factors.Ensure the probe is close to the wire. Test on a known live/neutral circuit to verify functionality.
