3.2 Battery Charging
Before first use, fully charge the included Lithium Ion battery using a compatible charger (not included unless specified). Always follow the charger's instructions and safety guidelines for LiPo batteries.
3.3 Binding with Transmitter
The M2 EVO MK2 is compatible with its own official receiver and various third-party radio systems such as FUTABA, Spektrum, JR, and FrSky. Refer to your specific transmitter's manual for binding procedures. For Spektrum users, a satellite receiver may be required, and binding might involve an additional receiver with a satellite connector.
3.4 App Connection and Parameter Adjustment
Utilize the OMPHOBBY smartphone application to connect to the helicopter's flight controller via the included Bluetooth module. This app allows for detailed adjustment of flight parameters, telemetry monitoring, and simplified setup.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Flight Modes
The flight controller has three built-in flight modes:
- Stabilizing Attitude Mode: Provides enhanced stability for beginners or relaxed flying.
- Soft 3D Mode: Offers a balance of stability and agility for learning basic 3D maneuvers.
- Aggressive 3D Mode: Unlocks full acrobatic potential for experienced pilots.
You can quickly switch to attitude mode from 3D mode for recovery or stabilization. The compact size of the OMPHOBBY RC helicopters makes them suitable for flexible indoor flying and aggressive outdoor flying.
4.2 Pre-Flight Checklist
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Verify all screws are tightened, especially after any impacts or maintenance.
- Check that rotor blades and tail blades are free from damage and securely attached.
- Confirm proper binding between the helicopter and your transmitter.
- Perform a range check of your radio system.
- Ensure the flight area is clear of obstacles, people, and animals.
4.3 First Flight Considerations
RC model helicopters are not toys. This helicopter is not suitable for children or individuals without experience in remote control helicopters. Inexperienced users must operate under professional guidance. Start with the Stabilizing Attitude Mode and gradually progress as your skills improve. Always maintain visual line of sight with the helicopter.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your M2 EVO MK2 helicopter. Perform these checks before and after each flight session.
5.1 Component Inspection
- Screws and Fasteners: Regularly check all screws and fasteners for tightness. Apply thread locker where appropriate, as vibrations can loosen them over time.
- Rotor Blades: Inspect main and tail rotor blades for cracks, chips, or deformation. Replace damaged blades immediately.
- Swashplate and Linkages: Ensure smooth movement of the swashplate and check for any binding or excessive play in the linkages.
- Motors: Listen for unusual noises from the main and tail motors. Ensure they are free of debris.
- Wiring: Check all wiring for fraying, cuts, or loose connections.
- Landing Gear: Inspect the landing gear for any damage or cracks.
5.2 Cleaning
After each flight, especially if flying in dusty or dirty conditions, gently clean the helicopter. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the motors, gears, and electronics. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
5.3 Storage
Store the helicopter in its original EEP box or a suitable carrying case to protect it from dust and physical damage. Store batteries at a safe storage voltage (typically around 3.8V per cell) in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and flammable materials.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your OMPHOBBY M2 EVO MK2 helicopter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Helicopter does not bind with transmitter. | Incorrect binding procedure; incompatible receiver/transmitter; satellite receiver issues. | Review your transmitter's binding instructions. Ensure correct satellite receiver is used and properly connected. Try binding in a different environment to rule out interference. |
| Tail twitches or spins out, especially in wind. | Tail gain too high/low; mechanical issues with tail rotor; vibration. | Adjust tail gain settings via the smartphone app. Check tail rotor blades for damage and ensure tail servo linkage is free. Inspect for excessive vibrations. |
| Helicopter drifts in hover. | Improper flight controller calibration; trim settings on transmitter; environmental factors. | Perform flight controller calibration as per manual (if available). Adjust trims on your transmitter. Ensure flight is in calm conditions, especially for initial setup. |
| Loss of power or short flight times. | Battery not fully charged; degraded battery; motor/ESC issues. | Ensure battery is fully charged. Check battery health and consider replacement if degraded. Inspect motors and ESCs for signs of damage or overheating. |
| Helicopter falls apart during flight (screws loosening). | Screws not properly secured; lack of thread locker. | Before first flight and periodically, remove all screws, apply a small amount of thread locker (e.g., Loctite blue), and re-tighten. |
