5. Setup

  1. Connect Air Supply: Attach the U.S.-specification air inlet connector to the tool's air intake port. Connect an air hose from a compressor to the tool. Ensure the air pressure is set within the recommended range of 86-116 PSI.
  2. Select Nosepiece: Choose the appropriate nosepiece that matches the diameter of the rivet you intend to use. The tool comes with five sizes: 2.4mm, 3.2mm, 4mm, 4.8mm, and 6.4mm. One nosepiece is pre-installed.
  3. Install Nosepiece: Use the provided wrenches to loosen and remove the current nosepiece. Screw the selected nosepiece onto the tool and tighten it securely with the wrenches.
  4. Check Jaws: The 3-claw design ensures a firm grip on the rivet. An extra set of jaw pieces is included for replacement if needed.

6. Operation

Follow these steps for proper operation of the pneumatic riveter:

  1. Prepare Material: Drill a pilot hole in the materials to be joined, ensuring the hole size matches the rivet diameter.
  2. Insert Rivet: Place the rivet into the selected nosepiece of the riveter.
  3. Position Tool: Insert the rivet into the pre-drilled hole in your workpiece. Ensure the tool is held firmly and perpendicular to the surface.
  4. Actuate Riveter: Press the trigger to activate the pneumatic mechanism. The tool will pull the rivet mandrel, expanding the rivet and securing the materials. Continue holding the trigger until the mandrel breaks off.
  5. Release Mandrel: The broken mandrel will be collected in the transparent mandrel collector bottle at the rear of the tool.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your riveter.

  • Clean Nosepiece and Jaws: After each use, disconnect the air supply and clean any debris from the nosepiece and the internal 3-claw jaws. This prevents jamming and ensures consistent gripping.
  • Empty Mandrel Collector: Regularly empty the transparent mandrel collector bottle to prevent it from overfilling and obstructing the tool's operation.
  • Lubrication: Apply a few drops of pneumatic tool oil to the air inlet before each use or at regular intervals, depending on usage frequency. This lubricates internal components and prevents wear.
  • Inspect Air Hoses: Periodically check air hoses and connections for leaks or damage. Replace any worn or damaged components immediately.
