3. Setup

3.1 Initial Winding

As an automatic mechanical watch, the OLEVS G6701 does not require a battery. It is powered by the movement of your wrist. However, for initial use or if the watch has stopped due to lack of wear, it needs to be manually wound:

  1. Ensure the crown is in its fully pushed-in position (Position 0).
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up a power reserve to start the watch and ensure accurate timekeeping.
  3. The watch will then continue to wind itself through your daily wrist movements.

3.2 Setting the Time

  1. Gently pull the crown out to Position 2 (the outermost position).
  2. Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the desired time is set. To avoid confusion between AM/PM for the date change, it is recommended to set the time past 12 AM/PM to observe when the date changes.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into Position 0.

3.3 Setting the Multi-Calendar (Date, Day, Month, Year)

The OLEVS G6701 features a multi-calendar display. Setting these functions typically involves a combination of crown positions and small recessed pushers on the side of the watch case. Note: Avoid setting the date/day/month between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the gears are engaged for automatic date change, and manual adjustment can damage the movement.

  1. Setting the Date: Pull the crown out to Position 1 (the first click). Rotate the crown either clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date.
  2. Setting the Day, Month, and Year: These are usually adjusted using small, recessed pushers on the side of the watch case. Use a small, non-sharp tool (like a toothpick or the included strap adjustment tool's pin) to gently press these buttons until the correct day, month, and year are displayed. Refer to the specific markings next to each pusher for its corresponding function.
  3. After setting all calendar functions, push the crown back into Position 0.

3.4 Strap Adjustment

Your OLEVS G6701 watch comes with a strap adjustment tool. To adjust the length of the stainless steel strap:

  1. Identify the pins on the side of the strap links that need to be removed.
  2. Place the strap in the adjustment tool and align the pin with the tool's pusher.
  3. Gently turn the tool's screw to push the pin out. Remove the desired number of links.
  4. Reassemble the strap by inserting the pins back into the links and gently tapping them into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Automatic Winding Mechanism

The watch is equipped with an automatic self-winding movement. When worn regularly, the natural motion of your arm will keep the mainspring wound, providing continuous power. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (typically 36-48 hours), it may stop. In this case, manually wind it as described in Section 3.1.

4.2 Water Resistance (30M)

Your OLEVS G6701 watch is rated for 30 meters (3 ATM) of water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing, rain, or accidental splashes. It is not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any water sports. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

4.3 Luminous Function

The hands and hour markers of your watch are coated with a luminous material. For optimal glow in dark environments, expose the watch dial to a bright light source (natural or artificial) for a few minutes. The intensity and duration of the glow will depend on the exposure time and light intensity.

5. Maintenance

Proper care will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your OLEVS G6701 watch.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For the stainless steel strap, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to harsh chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the case, strap, or internal components.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, which can affect the movement's accuracy and water resistance.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, airport security scanners), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements. If your watch becomes magnetized, it may run fast or slow and require demagnetization by a professional.
  • Water Resistance Check: The water resistance seals can degrade over time. It is recommended to have the water resistance checked by a professional watchmaker every 2-3 years.
  • Servicing: Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing (cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment) by a qualified watchmaker, typically every 3-5 years, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your OLEVS G6701 watch, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Watch has stopped: Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times (Section 3.1). Ensure you are wearing the watch regularly for the automatic winding mechanism to function.
  • Time is inaccurate (running fast or slow): This could be due to magnetization. Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields. If the issue persists, professional demagnetization or servicing may be required.
  • Date/Day/Month not changing: Check if the time is set correctly for AM/PM. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after setting. If the calendar functions are stuck, avoid forcing them and consult a professional.
  • Condensation inside the crystal: This indicates a breach in water resistance. Immediately pull out the crown to stop the movement and seek professional service to prevent further damage.
