1. Product Overview

The XPPen Deco 01 V3 is an advanced drawing tablet designed for digital artists, students, and professionals. 3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Tablet

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the provided cable to the XPPen Deco 01 V3 tablet.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer. If your computer only has USB-C ports, use the provided USB-A to USB-C adapter. For Android devices, use the appropriate USB-A to USB-C or Micro USB adapter.
  3. Ensure the connection is secure. The tablet's indicator light will illuminate upon successful connection.

3.2 Driver Installation

For optimal performance and customization, it is recommended to install the latest drivers from the official XPPen website. Follow the on-screen instructions during installation.

3.3 Setting Up the Stand

The AC42 Graphics Tablet Stand can be adjusted to provide a comfortable working angle. Pull the support plate back and adjust it to your desired angle for stable support.

3.4 Initial Configuration (Driver Software)

After installing the drivers, open the XPPen driver software. Here you can:

  • Customize the 8 shortcut keys on the tablet to your preferred functions.
  • Adjust the pen pressure sensitivity and tilt response.
  • Define the working area of the tablet to match your screen setup.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Stylus

The battery-free stylus functions like a traditional pen. Simply touch the stylus tip to the tablet's active area to control your cursor and draw. The 16,384 pressure levels allow for varying line thickness and opacity based on how hard you press, while 60 degrees of tilt support enables natural shading effects.

4.2 Utilizing Shortcut Keys

The 8 customizable shortcut keys on the side of the tablet can be programmed via the driver software to perform frequently used commands (e.g., undo, zoom, brush size adjustment), enhancing your workflow efficiency.

4.3 Software Compatibility

The XPPen Deco 01 V3 is compatible with most major creative software, including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, and more. It also works seamlessly with online teaching platforms and digital whiteboards.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the tablet surface and stylus. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Stylus Nibs: Replace the stylus nibs when they show significant wear to maintain optimal drawing performance. Extra nibs are stored in the pen holder.
  • Storage: Store the tablet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Protective Cover: Use the included protective cover to prevent scratches and wear on the tablet's active area.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Pen Response: Ensure the tablet is correctly connected to your computer/device. Reinstall the latest drivers from the XPPen website. Check if the stylus nib is properly inserted.
  • Driver Issues: If you experience unexpected behavior, try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Ensure no other tablet drivers are conflicting.
  • Android Connectivity: For Android devices, ensure your device runs Android 10.0 or above. Download the XPPen Tools Android application for accurate mapping.
  • Screen Glare: The tablet features an anti-glare film to minimize reflections. Adjust your lighting environment if glare persists.
