Setup

Setting the Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the Crown (if applicable): If your watch has a screw-down crown, gently unscrew it counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
  2. Position 1 (Winding): In this position, you can manually wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise. Wind approximately 20-30 times to initiate power reserve if the watch has stopped.
  3. Position 2 (Date/Weekday Setting): Pull the crown out one more click to position 2.
    • Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
    • Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the weekday.
    • Note: Avoid setting the date or weekday between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this window, first set the time outside this period, then adjust the date/weekday, and finally set the correct time.
  4. Position 3 (Time Setting): Pull the crown out to its outermost position (position 3). Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Advance the hands past 12 o'clock to determine if it is AM or PM (the date will change at midnight).
  5. Push and Screw Down the Crown: Once the time, date, and weekday are set, push the crown back into position 0. If it's a screw-down crown, gently push it in and screw it clockwise until it is securely tightened against the case to maintain water resistance.

Operating the Automatic Movement

Your Bauhaus Aviation watch is equipped with an automatic movement, Caliber 8285. This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the motion of your wrist during wear.

Maintenance

Water Resistance

The watch is water-protected to 5 ATM (50 meters), tested according to DIN standard 8310. This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in and, if applicable, screwed down to maintain water resistance.
