3.2 Installation Guidelines (Professional Installation Required)

Your Hitachi AC must be installed by an authorized service professional. Key considerations for installation include:

  • Location: Choose a location for the indoor unit that allows for even air distribution and is away from direct sunlight or heat sources. The outdoor unit should be placed in a well-ventilated area, away from obstructions.
  • Mounting: Securely mount both indoor and outdoor units according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Piping: Connect the copper refrigerant pipes and drain pipe between the indoor and outdoor units. Ensure proper insulation and leak-free connections.
  • Electrical Connection: Connect the unit to a dedicated power supply with appropriate voltage (230 Volts) and circuit protection.
  • Vacuuming and Refrigerant Charging: The system must be properly vacuumed to remove moisture and air, then charged with the correct amount of R32 refrigerant.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Hitachi AC is designed for user-friendly operation via the remote control. Familiarize yourself with the remote's functions for optimal comfort.

4.1 Remote Control Overview

The remote control allows you to adjust settings such as mode, temperature, fan speed, and special features.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air conditioner. Always turn off the power supply before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Air Filter Cleaning

The Anti Bacterial Mesh Filter should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every two weeks or when the Filter Clean Indicator illuminates) to maintain air quality and cooling efficiency.

  1. Open the front panel of the indoor unit.
  2. Remove the air filters.
  3. Clean the filters using a vacuum cleaner or wash them with lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and allow them to dry completely in a shaded area before reinstalling.
  5. Close the front panel.

5.2 ice Clean (FrostWash Technology)

The ice Clean feature, powered by FrostWash Technology, helps keep the indoor unit coil clean by freezing and then melting frost, washing away dust and dirt.

  1. Freeze: The unit condenses moisture and freezes it on the coil, capturing dust.
  2. Melt: The frost melts, draining away the trapped dust from the IDU coil.
  3. Dry: The blower dries out the coil to prevent mold growth.

To activate this function, press the dedicated FrostWash button on your remote control.

This image visually explains the three steps of the ice Clean (FrostWash) technology: freezing moisture to capture dust, melting the frost to wash away dirt, and drying the coil.

5.3 Outdoor Unit Cleaning

Periodically check the outdoor unit for any obstructions (leaves, debris) around the air inlet and outlet. Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. The outdoor unit features an anti-corrosive coating for enhanced durability.
