Setup Guide
1. Battery Installation
- Align the battery pack with the back of the radio unit.
- Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
- Use the provided screwdriver to tighten the screw at the bottom of the battery to secure it to the radio.

2. Antenna Attachment
- Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is firmly seated.
- Ensure the antenna is properly attached before operating the radio to prevent damage.

3. Initial Charging
- Connect the USB cable to the power adapter and then to the Type-C port on the radio or the battery charger base.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- Allow the battery to fully charge before first use. The charging indicator will typically change color or turn off when charging is complete.

Basic Operation
1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
- To power on the radio, rotate the Volume/Switch Knob clockwise.
- To power off, rotate the Volume/Switch Knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.
- Adjust the volume by rotating the Volume/Switch Knob after the radio is powered on.
2. Channel/Frequency Selection
- Use the Channel Knob on top of the radio to select pre-programmed channels.
- Alternatively, use the Numeric Keypad to directly input frequencies in VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode.
- The large color screen displays the selected frequency or channel.
3. Push-to-Talk (PTT) and Dual PTT
- Press and hold the PTT1 or PTT2 button on the side of the radio to transmit. Release to receive.
- The APX-8000 features a Dual PTT Design, allowing transmission on two independent zones (A and B) by using separate PTT buttons.
4. Dual Receiving Mode
- The radio supports simultaneous reception on both Zone A and Zone B, whether they are in the same or different frequency segments.
