1. Introduction

This cross-cut shredder is designed for home and small office use, providing secure disposal of sensitive documents, credit cards, staples, and paper clips. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure safe and efficient use.

2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow basic safety precautions when using this product.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Keep loose clothing, jewelry, hair, and other foreign objects away from the paper entry slot.
• Do not place hands or fingers into the paper entry slot.
• Always unplug the shredder before moving, cleaning, or emptying the wastebasket.
• Do not operate if the power cord is damaged.
• Do not shred wet or sticky materials.
• The shredder will stop working once the head is lifted from the wastebasket, ensuring user safety.

Do Not Shred:

Caution:

• Do not spray or store any aerosol products (such as cleaners, flammable liquids, gases, oils, etc.) inside or around the shredder.

3. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the shredder and all components from the packaging.
2. Position: Place the shredder on a flat, stable surface. Ensure it is positioned near a power outlet and has adequate space for ventilation. The compact dimensions (approximately 7 x 11.2 x 14 inches) allow it to fit neatly under most desks.
3. Assemble: Place the shredder head securely onto the wastebasket. Ensure it is properly seated for the safety interlock to engage.
4. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

Control Panel:

The shredder features a simple control panel with a slide switch for different modes:

• FWD (Forward): For manual shredding or clearing minor jams.
• AUTO (Automatic): The shredder will automatically start when paper is inserted and stop when shredding is complete. This is the recommended setting for normal use.
• OFF: Turns the shredder off.
• REV (Reverse): Reverses the shredding action to clear paper jams.

Shredding Paper:

1. Set the slide switch to AUTO.
2. Insert up to 6 sheets of A4 paper (75g/m²) into the paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically start and shred the paper into 5x14mm cross-cut particles (P-4 security level).
3. The shredder can handle staples and small paper clips without removal.

Shredding Credit Cards:

1. Set the slide switch to AUTO.
2. Insert one credit card at a time into the designated credit card slot.

Continuous Operation & Cooling:

The shredder is designed for a continuous operating time of 3 minutes. After 3 minutes of continuous use, the overheating LED indicator will light up. Allow the shredder to cool down for 20 minutes before resuming operation to prevent overheating and extend its lifespan.

5. Maintenance

Emptying the Wastebasket:

The shredder features a 3.4-gallon (13-liter) transparent window bin, allowing you to easily monitor the shredded paper level. When the wastebasket is full:

1. Set the slide switch to OFF and unplug the shredder.
2. Lift the shredder head using the portable handle.
3. Empty the shredded contents from the wastebasket.
4. Replace the shredder head securely onto the wastebasket.

Oiling the Shredder:

Regular oiling of the shredder blades is recommended to maintain performance and extend the life of your shredder. Use shredder oil (not supplied) or specially oiled paper. Follow the instructions provided with the shredder oil.
