Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Zhiroad 4K Dual Dash Cam. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Setup

1. Initial Preparation

• Before first use, it is recommended to format the included 64GB Micro SD card within the dash cam settings.
• Ensure the Micro SD card is inserted correctly into the designated slot. The dashcam supports up to 256GB.
• The CPL filter is pre-installed on the dashcam. It can be rotated to reduce glare and reflections.

2. Installation

The dash cam is designed for easy installation. The front camera mounts to the windshield using the suction bracket, and the rear camera attaches with 3M adhesive.

1. Clean the area on your windshield where the front dashcam will be mounted.
2. Attach the suction bracket to the front dashcam and secure it to the windshield, ensuring it does not obstruct your view.
3. Route the Type C power cable from the dashcam to your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
4. For the rear camera, choose a suitable location on your rear window. Clean the surface thoroughly.
5. Attach the rear camera using the provided 3M adhesive.
6. Connect the rear camera cable to the main dashcam unit and route the cable neatly using the crowbar and cable clips to hide it along the vehicle's interior trim.

3. App Control and Wi-Fi Connection

The dash cam features 5GHz Wi-Fi for fast and seamless connectivity with your smartphone via a dedicated mobile app.

1. Download the official Zhiroad app from your smartphone's app store.
2. Turn on the dash cam.
3. On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network. The network name and password can typically be found on the dash cam screen or in the user manual.
4. Open the Zhiroad app. You can now view live footage, download videos, adjust settings, and share recordings directly from your smartphone.

Operating the Dash Cam

1. Recording Modes

• Loop Recording: The dash cam continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 2, or 3 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous operation without manual intervention.
• G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): The built-in G-sensor automatically detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is locked and saved to a protected folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This footage serves as crucial evidence in case of an accident.

2. Parking Monitoring

The dash cam offers 24-hour parking monitoring to protect your vehicle when it's parked. This feature requires a hardwire kit (not included) for continuous power supply.

• Time Lapse Mode: Records continuously at a low frame rate, minimizing power consumption and storage space while providing comprehensive coverage.
• Collision Detection Mode: If the G-sensor detects an impact while parked, the dash cam will automatically wake up and record a short video segment.

Note: For 24-hour parking monitoring, a hardwire kit is required and sold separately.

3. Video Quality Features

• 4K Ultra HD Front Camera: Records at 3840x2160P, capturing clear details like license plates and road signs.
• 1080P Rear Camera: Records at 1920x1080P, providing a clear view of the rear. The rear camera is 360° rotatable for flexible positioning.
• Super Night Vision: Equipped with a large F/1.8 aperture 6-layer optical lens and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, the camera enhances exposure in dark situations, ensuring clear images in low-light environments.
• CPL Filter: The magnetic Circular Polarizer (CPL) filter reduces glare and reflections from the windshield, especially in bright sunlight or from headlights at night, improving video clarity and contrast.

Maintenance

1. Formatting the Micro SD Card

Regularly formatting the Micro SD card is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent data corruption. It is recommended to format the card at least once a month.

1. Turn on the dash cam.
2. Navigate to the settings menu on the dash cam screen.
3. Locate the "Format" or "SD Card Format" option.
4. Confirm the formatting process. All data on the card will be erased.

2. Cleaning the Lens

To maintain clear video quality, regularly clean the dash cam lenses (front and rear) with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or chemical cleaners that could damage the lens coating.
