5. Setup
Follow these steps to assemble your PC components within the Okinos Cypress 3 Wood case:
- Prepare the Case: Carefully remove the tempered glass side panel and the opposite metal side panel. The top magnetic dust filter can also be removed for easier access.
- Install Motherboard: Align your Micro ATX or ITX motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs. Secure the motherboard using the appropriate screws from the accessory box.
- Install CPU Cooler: Install your CPU cooler. The case supports CPU coolers up to 164mm in height.
- Install Graphics Card (GPU): Insert your graphics card into the PCIe slot. The case supports GPUs up to 285mm when fans are installed at the rear of the front panel, and up to 320mm when fans are installed in front of the front panel. Secure the GPU with screws.
- Install Storage Drives: Install your 2.5" SSDs and 3.5" HDDs into the designated mounting points. The case offers flexible storage options.
- Install Power Supply (PSU): Install your power supply unit at the bottom of the case. Ensure the PSU length is compatible with your chosen configuration (up to 185mm with HDD cage, up to 330mm without).
- Connect Cables: Route all necessary cables (24-pin ATX, CPU, GPU, SATA, fan, front I/O) through the cable management cutouts. Utilize the 23mm cable management space behind the motherboard tray for a clean build. Connect the front I/O cables (USB 3.0, Type-C, audio, power, reset) to their respective headers on your motherboard.
- Fan Configuration: The case comes with four 120mm fans pre-installed (three front, one rear). You can add up to two additional 120mm or 140mm fans at the top for enhanced cooling.
- Close the Case: Once all components are installed and cables are managed, reattach the side panels and the top dust filter.
6. Operating
After successful assembly, connect your peripherals and power cable to the PC. Press the power button on the front panel to start your system. The front I/O ports provide convenient access for connecting USB devices and audio equipment.
- Power Button: Initiates system startup or shutdown.
- Reset Button: Restarts the system.
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10Gbps): For high-speed data transfer with compatible devices.
- USB 3.0 Ports: For connecting USB peripherals.
- Headphone/Mic Combo Jack: For audio input and output.
Note: USB ports are primarily for data transfer and are not recommended for power charging, as most motherboards USB ports support a maximum voltage of 5V.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your PC components.
- Dust Filters: The case features a magnetic dust filter on the top panel. Regularly remove and clean this filter to prevent dust buildup inside the case, which can impede airflow and cooling.
- Fan Cleaning: Periodically clean the pre-installed fans and any additional fans to remove dust accumulation. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the case with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or walnut wood.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Okinos Cypress 3 Wood PC case, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| PC does not power on. | Loose power connections, faulty PSU, incorrect front panel header connection. | Check all power cables (wall outlet, PSU, motherboard). Ensure front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to motherboard. Test PSU if possible. |
| Fans are not spinning. | Loose fan connections, faulty fans, insufficient power from fan headers. | Verify all fan cables are securely connected to motherboard fan headers or the fan splitter cable. Check fan splitter cable connection to PSU/motherboard. |
| No display output. | Loose GPU, monitor cable, or integrated graphics issue. | Ensure GPU is fully seated in PCIe slot and power cables are connected. Check monitor cable connection. If using integrated graphics, ensure monitor is connected to motherboard video output. |
| Front USB/Audio ports not working. | Front panel I/O cables not connected to motherboard. | Check that the USB 3.0, Type-C, and audio cables from the front panel are securely connected to the corresponding headers on your motherboard. |
| System overheating. | Poor airflow, dust buildup, incorrect fan orientation. | Ensure fans are oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake/exhaust). Clean dust filters and fans regularly. Verify no obstructions to airflow. |
