2. Setup and Installation

Setting up your GoveeLife Smart Water Leak Detector is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get your system operational:

1. Power the Gateway: Plug the Gateway into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Download the Govee Home App: Search for "Govee Home" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and install it.
3. Add the Gateway: Open the Govee Home App, tap the '+' icon, and follow the on-screen instructions to add your H5044 Gateway. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during setup.
4. Prepare Sensors: Remove the battery insulation tab from each H5059 water leak sensor.
5. Pair Sensors: Within the app, select your Gateway and follow the prompts to add sub-devices (sensors). Press and hold the button on each sensor for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.
6. Name Sensors: Assign a descriptive name to each sensor (e.g., "Kitchen Sink," "Basement," "Laundry Room") within the app for easy identification.
7. Placement: Place sensors in areas prone to water leaks, such as under sinks, near water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, or in basements. Ensure the sensor's metal probes are in direct contact with the surface where a leak might occur.

4. Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

The GoveeLife H5059 sensors are designed for a 5-year battery life. When the battery is low, you will receive a notification through the app. To replace the battery:

1. Carefully remove the waterproof silicone pad from the back of the sensor.
2. Unscrew the small screws on the back cover and gently pry it open.
3. Remove the old AAA batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity (positive and negative sides).
4. Reattach the back cover and tighten the screws.
5. Reinsert the waterproof silicone pad to ensure the device remains protected from water and dust.

• No Alerts: Ensure the Gateway is powered on and connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Check the sensor's battery level in the app. Verify that app notifications, SMS, and email alerts are enabled in the Govee Home App settings.
• Sensor Offline: Check the distance between the sensor and the Gateway. While the device has a long range, thick walls or interference can affect connectivity. Try repositioning the sensor or Gateway. Ensure the sensor battery is not depleted.
• False Alarms: Ensure the sensor is placed on a dry, stable surface. Avoid placing it in areas where condensation or accidental splashes might trigger it. Clean the metal probes on the sensor if they appear dirty or corroded.
• App Connectivity Issues: Restart your router and the Govee Home App. Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to the same 2.4GHz network as the Gateway.
