Set up your gateway

  1. Download or update Govee Home App. Download on the App Store, Get it on Google Play
  2. Tap the "+" and select H5044 to add your gateway.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to complete connecting.
  4. The Gateway icon is at the top right corner on the "Device" page.

Note: Make sure your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network is functioning properly before pairing the Gateway to the network. Please check the above steps and try again if the pairing fails.

Set up your Water Leak Detector

Note: Before adding Water Leak Detector, make sure the Gateway has been successfully added to the app.

  1. Enter the page of the gateway. Tap "" icon at the top right corner and select "H5044"/"Smart Gateway 1s".
  2. Pairing Water Leak Detector with the Gateway. Tap "Add new sub-device"-"H5059" to start pairing, follow the prompts on the page by pressing the button 3s on the bottom of the water leak detector until it flashes red slowly, indicating that the device is waiting to pair with the gateway. After successfully repaired, water leak detector will appear on device page.
  3. Distinguish Water Leak Detector. Short press the button of the water leak detector, and the corresponding icon on the gateway page will flash.
  4. Installing Water Leak Detector. You can use the device near places where water leaks are likely to occur such as near water pipes, basement sump pumps, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets, water heaters, window wells, etc. And you can click "Network Test" to test the distance of the place.

NOTE: Do not place the device upright, otherwise no alarm will be triggered. Do not place the device on uneven surfaces as this may cause false alarms.

Troubleshooting

  1. The gateway cannot connect to Wi-Fi. / The connection is unstable.
    • a. 5GHz network is not supported. The device only supports 2.4GHz.
    • b. Check the name of the network and password.
    • c. Place the gateway within coverage of the router signal.
    • d. No obstructions like metal door or wall between the gateway and the detector are suggested.
  2. The water leak detector cannot work.
    • a. Pull out the insulation sheet before using.
    • b. Open the back cover via a PH00/PH0 screwdriver, remove and re-install the battery.
    • c. Check whether the battery is running low.
  3. No/Delayed notification in the app.
    • a. Make sure that Android device users turn on Location and iOS users select “Setting - Govee Home - Location - Always" in the phone.
    • b. Keep the distance between the gateway and the detector as close as possible.
    • c. No obstructions between the gateway and the detector is suggested.
    • d. The time interval between two water detection should be longer than 1 hour, otherwise the app won't push notification.
    • e. Check whether the indicator of the gateway flashes when the detector is triggered. If not, please re-add the detector.
