Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper function and safety. This device is designed to provide early detection of water leaks and floods, helping to protect your property from potential damage.

2. Product Overview

The GoveeLife Water Leak Detector (Model H5059) is an essential tool for safeguarding your home against water damage. It features ultra-sensitive detection capabilities and a loud, adjustable alarm to alert you to leaks quickly. The device is built for durability with an IP67 waterproof rating and boasts a long-lasting battery for hassle-free operation.

3. Setup

Initial Activation:

1. Remove the protective sticker from the sensor's button.
2. Press and hold the button on the detector for 3 seconds to power it on. A red indicator light will briefly appear.

Placement:

Place the water leak detector in areas prone to water leaks, ensuring the sensor probes on the bottom are in direct contact with the surface. Common locations include:

• Under sinks (kitchen, bathroom)
• Near water heaters
• Behind or next to washing machines and dishwashers
• In basements or utility rooms
• Near sump pumps

App Integration (Optional, Requires Gateway):

The GoveeLife Water Leak Detector (H5059) cannot connect directly to the GoveeLife app. To enable remote monitoring and notifications via your smartphone, a GoveeLife H5044 gateway is required. This gateway is not included in the H5059 package and must be purchased separately (e.g., as part of kit "BB0DQLDBXWF"). The H5059 is not compatible with H5040/H5043 gateways.

4. Operating the Device

Water Detection and Alarm:

When the sensor probes on the bottom of the device detect water, the alarm will sound immediately at 105dB. The device is highly sensitive and can detect even a tiny amount of water. If the top contacts also come into contact with water, the alarm will also activate.

Alarm Volume Adjustment:

To adjust the alarm volume, double-press the button on the device. There are 4 adjustable volume settings to choose from.

Silencing the Alarm:

The alarm will stop once the water is no longer detected by the sensor probes. You can also press the button on the device to temporarily silence the alarm. If connected to a GoveeLife H5044 gateway, you may also be able to silence the alarm via the app.

5. Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

The GoveeLife Water Leak Detector features a built-in battery designed to last up to 5 years under normal standby conditions. When the battery is low, the device will indicate this (e.g., via a low battery alert in the app if connected to a gateway). To replace the battery:

1. Carefully remove the waterproof silicone pad from the bottom of the device using a small screwdriver.
2. Unscrew the screws on the back cover and gently pry it open.
3. Remove the old AAA batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity (positive and negative sides).
4. Reattach the back cover and tighten the screws.
5. Reinsert the waterproof silicone pad into its original position.

Cleaning:

Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water (beyond what is expected for leak detection) as this may damage the internal components.

6. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

• Alarm not sounding:
  • Ensure the device is powered on (press and hold the button for 3 seconds).
  • Check if the sensor probes are in direct contact with the water.
  • Verify battery level and replace if necessary.
• False alarms:
  • Ensure the device is placed on a dry surface.
  • Avoid placing the detector in areas with condensation or high humidity that might trigger the sensors without an actual leak. For example, if placing near cold pipes, consider using a drip pan and positioning the sensor slightly beside the pan to avoid false alarms from condensation.
• No app notifications (if using gateway):
  • Confirm you are using a GoveeLife H5044 gateway, as other models (H5040/H5043) are not compatible.
  • Ensure the gateway is properly set up and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Check app settings for notifications and ensure they are enabled for the specific sensor.
