4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Using the Mandoline Slicer
- Ensure the desired blade is securely installed.
- Place the food item onto the mandoline platform.
- Secure the food item with the hand guard.
- Hold the hand guard firmly and slide it up and down along the blade, applying gentle, even pressure. The sliced food will collect in the transparent container below.
- For best results, maintain a consistent motion.

4.2 Using the Manual Food Chopper
- Prepare ingredients by cutting larger items into smaller pieces (e.g., 1-inch cubes) to ensure efficient chopping and prevent blade obstruction.
- Place the prepared ingredients into the chopper base, ensuring the blade assembly is in place and the lid is securely locked.
- Hold the chopper firmly with one hand and pull the cord handle horizontally with the other hand.
- Pull the cord multiple times until the desired consistency is achieved. The number of pulls determines the fineness of the chop (e.g., 5 pulls for coarse, 20 pulls for fine).
- Do not pull the rope to its absolute end to avoid potential damage to the mechanism.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and hygiene of your Geedel kitchen tools.
- Disassembly: Both the mandoline slicer and food chopper are designed for easy disassembly. Carefully separate all removable parts.
- Rinsing: Rinse all components under running water immediately after use to prevent food from drying onto surfaces and blades.
- Washing: All parts, except the food chopper lid (which contains the pull mechanism), are top-rack dishwasher safe. For the food chopper lid, wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the lid in water.
- Hand Washing Blades: Use a brush to clean blades carefully. Avoid direct contact with hands.
- Drying: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling or storing to prevent rust and bacterial growth.
- Storage: The mandoline slicer's transparent container can store the blades. Store all components in a safe place, away from children.
6. Troubleshooting
- Difficulty Slicing/Chopping:
- Ensure blades are clean and free of obstructions.
- For the mandoline, ensure the food item is properly secured with the hand guard and moved with consistent pressure.
- For the chopper, ensure large ingredients are pre-cut into smaller pieces. Do not overfill the chopper.
- Chopper Cord Not Retracting:
- Ensure the cord was not pulled to its absolute end during operation.
- Check for any food debris or obstruction around the cord mechanism.
- Food Sticking to Blades:
- Clean blades immediately after use.
- For sticky foods, a light coating of cooking spray on the mandoline platform can help.
