1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the WHALL Touch Screen Toaster 2 Slice. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your new appliance. Please read these instructions thoroughly before first use and retain them for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before operating the toaster.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or toaster in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Do not use the toaster for other than intended use.
  • Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
  • A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
  • Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged in.
  • Do not operate unattended.

3. Product Components

Familiarize yourself with the parts of your WHALL Touch Screen Toaster:

  • Toasting Slots: Two extra-wide slots for various bread types.
  • Touch Screen Panel: Digital interface for selecting bread type, shade, and functions.
  • Carriage Lever: Lowers and raises bread into the toasting slots.
  • Removable Crumb Tray: Located at the back for easy cleaning.
  • Cord Wrap: Integrated into the base for tidy storage.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the toaster from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, including any labels or stickers.
  2. Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls, curtains, and other flammable materials. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the toaster.
  3. First Use (Burn-Off): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread on the highest shade setting (6) in a well-ventilated area. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

The WHALL Touch Screen Toaster offers intuitive controls for various toasting preferences.

5.1 Basic Toasting

  1. Insert up to two slices of bread into the toasting slots. The extra-wide slots accommodate various bread thicknesses.
  2. Press the 'BREAD TYPE' icon on the touch screen to cycle through the available bread types (Bread, Bagel, Pastry, Waffle, English Muffin, Grain). Select the appropriate type for your item.
  3. Adjust the shade setting using the '«' (decrease) and '»' (increase) arrows. There are 6 shade settings, from light (1) to dark (6). The digital timer will display the selected shade level.
  4. Push the carriage lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin, and the digital timer will count down.
  5. Once the toasting cycle is complete, the bread will automatically pop up.

5.2 Special Functions

  • Defrost Function: Ideal for toasting frozen bread. Select the 'DEFROST' button after choosing your bread type and shade. This adds approximately 20% longer toasting time to account for thawing.
  • Bagel Function: Toasts the cut side of bagels while gently warming the outer crust. Select the 'BAGEL' button after inserting your bagel and choosing the desired shade.
  • Reheat Function: Warms already toasted items without further browning. Press the 'REHEAT' button. The toaster will reheat for 30 seconds after the cycle finishes.
  • Cancel Function: To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the 'CANCEL' button. The carriage lever will immediately raise the bread.

5.3 Sound Alerts & Mute

The toaster provides sound alerts for function selection, start of toasting, and completion of the cycle. To mute these alerts, press and hold the 'CANCEL' button for 2 seconds.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.

  1. Always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Crumb Tray: Pull out the removable crumb tray located at the back of the toaster. Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the tray is completely dry before reinserting it.
  3. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can scratch the stainless steel finish.
  4. Interior: Do not insert any objects into the toasting slots to clean. If food becomes lodged, unplug the toaster and carefully invert it to shake out the food.
  5. Storage: When not in use, the power cord can be wrapped around the cord wrap at the base of the toaster for neat storage.

7. Troubleshooting
