5. Setup
Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Placement: Place the dehumidifier on a firm, level surface in an area where the temperature will not fall below 38°F (3°C). Ensure there is at least 8 inches of space around the unit for proper air circulation.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
- Drainage Options: Your dehumidifier offers two drainage methods: bucket collection or continuous drainage.
- Bucket Collection: The unit will collect water in the internal bucket. When the bucket is full, the unit will automatically shut off and an indicator light will illuminate. Empty the bucket as needed.
- Continuous Gravity Drainage: For continuous operation without emptying the bucket, attach a standard garden hose (not included) to the continuous drain port at the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to a floor drain or suitable receptacle.
- Built-in Pump Drainage: For drainage to a higher location (e.g., sink, window), connect the included drain hose to the pump drain port. Ensure the hose is securely connected and directed to the desired drainage point. Activate the pump function on the control panel.
6. Operating Instructions
The control panel allows you to manage the dehumidifier's functions:
- Power Button: Press to turn the unit ON or OFF.
- Humidity Setting: Use the Up/Down arrows to set the desired humidity level (e.g., 40% - 60% relative humidity is generally recommended). The unit will operate until this level is reached.
- Fan Speed: Select between High and Low fan speeds. High speed provides faster dehumidification, while Low speed offers quieter operation.
- Timer: Set a timer for the unit to turn ON or OFF automatically after a specified number of hours (e.g., 2, 4, 8 hours).
- Pump Button: Activate or deactivate the built-in water pump for continuous drainage. Ensure the drain hose is properly connected before activating.
