2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, always follow these instructions:

  • Read all instructions and safety information before installing your fan and save these instructions.
  • All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Before installation, disconnect power by turning off the circuit breakers at the main fuse box.
  • The fan must be mounted to a ceiling joist or support structure capable of supporting a minimum of 35 lbs (15.9 kg).
  • Ensure the installation site allows for a minimum clearance of 7 feet (2.1 meters) from the floor to the blade trailing edge.
  • Do not operate the fan with damaged blades or any visible defects.
  • Avoid placing objects in the path of the fan blades.
  • This fan is suitable for indoor use and covered outdoor spaces. Do not expose directly to rain.

5. Setup and Installation

Professional installation is recommended. Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before starting. The fan can be mounted on flat ceilings or sloped ceilings up to 15 degrees.

5.1 Pre-Installation Checks

  • Confirm the electrical box is securely mounted and rated for ceiling fan support.
  • Ensure all components listed in Section 3 are present.
  • Gather necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, ladder, etc.

5.2 Mounting the Fan

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling electrical box using the provided screws.
  2. Assemble the downrod to the motor housing, ensuring all screws are tightened.
  3. Carefully lift the fan assembly and hang it on the mounting bracket.
  4. Connect the electrical wires (Live, Neutral, Ground) according to local codes and the fan's wiring diagram. Secure connections with wire nuts.
  5. Secure the canopy to the mounting bracket.
  6. Attach the fan blades to the motor housing. Note that the blades are reversible with a white side and a wood grain side. Choose your preferred finish during assembly.
  7. Install the LED light kit to the bottom of the motor housing.

6. Operating Instructions

Your Newday ceiling fan is controlled by the included wireless remote. Ensure the remote has batteries installed (not included, typically 2x AAA).

6.1 Remote Control Functions

  • Fan On/Off: Press the power button in the center to turn the fan on or off.
  • Fan Speed: Press buttons 1 through 6 to select desired fan speed. 1-2 for low comfortable wind, 3-4 for medium natural wind, and 5-6 for high cooling wind.
  • Light On/Off: Press the "LIGHT ON/OFF" button to toggle the light.
  • Color Temperature: Press WW for Warm White (3000K), NW for Natural White (4500K), and DW for Cool White (6000K). Press and hold WW to decrease color temperature (K-), and press and hold DW to increase color temperature (K+).
  • Brightness Adjustment: Use the + and - buttons to adjust light brightness from 10% to 100%.
  • Reversible Airflow: Press the reverse arrow button to switch between summer mode (downward airflow) and winter mode (upward airflow).
  • Timer: Press 1H, 3H, or 6H to set the fan to turn off automatically after the selected duration.
  • Sleep Mode: Press the moon button to activate sleep mode, which simulates natural wind by cycling through speeds 1, 2, and 3 every 20 seconds.

6.2 Reversible DC Motor

The fan features a reversible DC motor for year-round comfort:

  • Summer Mode: Downward airflow creates a cooling effect.
  • Winter Mode: Upward airflow circulates warm air trapped near the ceiling, helping to balance indoor heating.

6.3 Smart Memory Function

The fan's light has a smart memory function:

  1. Select your desired light brightness and color temperature.
  2. Turn off the light and wait for at least 10 seconds.
  3. When the light is turned on again, it will retain the previously set brightness and color temperature.

Note: If the light is turned on again within 10 seconds of being turned off, the color temperature may switch.

6.4 Two-Color Fan Blades

The fan blades are reversible, offering two aesthetic options:

  • One side features a classic white finish.
  • The other side features a wood grain finish.

You can choose the blade color that best suits your room's decor during installation.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: To clean the fan, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or electrical components.
  • Blade Cleaning: Dust the fan blades regularly to prevent dust buildup, which can affect balance and airflow.
  • Tighten Fasteners: Periodically check all screws and fasteners on the fan and mounting hardware to ensure they are secure. Loose connections can cause noise or wobble.
  • No Lubrication Required: The DC motor is permanently lubricated and does not require oiling.

WARNING: Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before cleaning or performing any maintenance on your fan.
