Electrical Connection

  • Before plugging in, ensure the voltage indicated on the rating plate matches your household power supply (220V).
  • Connect the appliance to a properly installed and grounded wall socket.
  • Do not switch on the appliance immediately after transport. Allow it to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Initial Startup

  • After plugging in, set the temperature control to the desired setting (usually a medium setting for initial cooling).
  • Allow the freezer to operate empty for 4-6 hours to reach its optimal temperature before loading food.

4. Operating Instructions

Temperature Control

The freezer is equipped with a temperature control dial, typically located inside the appliance. Turn the dial to adjust the freezing temperature. Higher numbers usually indicate colder temperatures.

  • Recommended Setting: For general use, a medium setting is often sufficient.
  • Adjusting: If you need colder temperatures (e.g., for fast freezing), turn the dial to a higher setting. For less cold, turn it to a lower setting.
  • Avoid setting the temperature too low unnecessarily, as this consumes more energy.

Food Storage Guidelines

  • Always store food in sealed containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  • Do not place hot food directly into the freezer; allow it to cool down first.
  • Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder air circulation and reduce freezing efficiency.
  • Organize food using the drawers and shelves for easy access and to maintain temperature stability.
  • Label and date frozen items to ensure proper rotation and consumption within recommended storage times.

De Frost Technology

This freezer features 'De Frost' technology, which is designed to significantly reduce the accumulation of ice and frost compared to conventional freezers. While it minimizes frost buildup, a very thin layer of frost may naturally form over time. This is normal and does not affect the freezer's performance. Periodic manual defrosting will still be required to maintain optimal efficiency, as detailed in the Maintenance section.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular Cleaning

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent and water. Dry thoroughly.
  • Interior: Clean the interior with a solution of baking soda and water (1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 liter of water). Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or sharp objects for cleaning, as they can damage surfaces.
  • Clean the door gasket regularly to ensure a tight seal.

Defrosting Procedure

Although your freezer features De Frost technology, manual defrosting is necessary when the frost layer becomes about 5 mm thick to ensure efficient operation.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all frozen food and store it in another freezer or wrap it well and place it in a cool place.
  3. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the appliance.
  5. Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  6. Plug the freezer back in and allow it to cool for a few hours before returning food.

Power Outage

In case of a power outage, keep the freezer door closed to maintain the internal temperature for as long as possible. Food can remain frozen for several hours depending on the ambient temperature and how full the freezer is.
